With prices going up everywhere this is what the Shadow Chancellor suggests - scrapping the 1% reduction in income tax and the rise in NI. How paying more tax is going to help anyone the old dear does not explain.

I don't think they know. Seems to me its a case of 'we must do something, this is something, so we must do it.'

Therein lies the problem. One wants to borrow money we can’t afford to throw at the problem and the other wants to tax us money we can’t afford to pay to throw at it

This is the next ripoff once the stupid politicians have got rid of the petrol and diesel cars the big suppliers will put the charging rates through the roof so you can't afford to charge your car never mind buy one. Shell ups prices at its 10,000 electric car charging points by up to 34% as the premium for not having a driveway and dedicated-EV tariff grows Shell Recharge, which has 10,000 UK public charging devices, will increase prices from 20 October Cost to use its rapid and ultra-rapid devices will go up by 20p per kWh - a hike of up to 34% Charging using a 150kW device will cost 85p per kWh - that compares to just 34p for an average household Report says soaring costs and lack of public infrastructure is why 84% of current EV owners have a driveway www.dailymail.co.uk/money/electriccars/article-11315693/Shell-Recharge-hikes-public-charging-network-prices-30.html

Before we get anywhere near there, we will see a rush for second hand or 'used' petrol/diesel cars the value of which is going to go stratospheric in a few years, in fact it's already started.

Therein lies the problem. One wants to borrow money we can’t afford to throw at the problem and the other wants to tax us money we can’t afford to pay to throw at it And the one thing we unambiguously must do, ie reduce public expenditure, nobody is discussing. At some point reality is going to catch up with this process and i would advise people to stand well back when it does.

We are as rich as a poor man with a wallet full of credit cards and access to an overdraft .

Good video on the collapse in value of the Pound.... bring back the Gold Standard?.. You can see from that the reason 5 shillings was often referred to as a dollar.

The main issue is the roof over your head, if you can't afford that you're in big trouble.
This is one of the main headaches for people, if you lose your home, be it mortgage or rented it's one of the worst things that could happen to any one.

There is going to be a lot of suffering for those who've been trapped into ridiculous mortgages over the past 10- 15 years
