Possibly, I think all the political gesturing with rainbow armbands and kneeling for BLM was the final straw for me. I'm not interested in semi-literate millionaire prima donnas, or the football authorities for that matter, preaching their left wing virtue signalling nonsense. So I choose not to watch. Fighting injustice and discrimination is only a left wing pursuit is it? I thought you were a champion of majority wishes. There was almost universal support for protesting Qatar's persecution of gays. I support keeping virtue signalling politcs out of sport.

I shouldn't think anyone is overly fussed about your boycott, Red. Your choice whether you choose to watch or not.
It has been an interesting World Cup. Obviously it should never have been awarded to Qatar in the first place. That it was is highly likely to have been the result of corruption.
The human rights issues are a factor, and it is perfectly reasonable for people to protest against them if they wish. However it is possible to detect a whiff of hypocrisy given there were no similar protests about Russia at the last World Cup (the most corrupt country in Europe) or Ukraine (the second most corrupt country in Europe) at the Euros two ago and will not be at the next world cup in the USA (where black people suffer daily discrimination and in some areas even rape victims are forbidden to get an abortion).
On the field the football has been the best for many years - perhaps the best of all.
The alcohol restrictions in Qatar have substantially reduced the off field issues that football "fans" all too frequently cause.
While holding it in the winter has caused issues to many countries domestic leagues, it has resulted in players being less tired (perhaps explaining the high standard of football) and filled the dark wet cold early winter evenings well.
The palpable pride that Middle Eastern and North African communities in the UK have taken in their region staging a World Cup has been perhaps surprising given that there are regularly tensions between the nations there.
Its a shame that England didn't win, but they are a young promising team consisting of seemingly decent human beings lead by a strong coach and a good man to boot. They represent our nation well.

If you get up to date you may soon want to include the EU in your worthless meanderings.

Must be all those years spent hanging around the BBC. The BBC is policed by Parliament. No wonder it's corrupt.

Anybody got any idea what the silly old boy is wittering on about this time?? Blah, blah, Brexit is great seems to be the gist of it. Senility is a terrible condition. Sympathy and hugs to all those suffering from it.

I don't watch football, but I would have liked England to at least get as far as the final
