I expect the guy who killed Jo Cox was liked by someone. How about Paul Hughes, Donna Maguire, Sean Hick, and Gerard Harte, all loved by their friends. You give me 2 bad uns out of a population of 4 million. Exceptions do not break the rule, they prove it. The point is you cannot tell until they act and in terms of action the Muslim community turn out a disproportionate number of individuals prepared to kill and maim in the name of the religion and the same disproportionate level of individuals intolerant of our freedoms to criticise their beliefs. Now we have our own problems but rolling off a few names does not change the proportionality of the problem. You can indeed say not all Muslims are like that and I would agree, the problem we face is that far too many of them are. |
