I thought he flounced this forum when he became a mod over on the bore-em forum. Couldn't keep away, eh. he was demoted for being a shite mod , just as he is a shite EV salesman. The cardboard snobs over there only want to talk in a centrist jerk circle over tea and cakes , away from the dirty common folk like us , and zany got the hump because they didnt like his green writing and mod tactics. No it didn’t . Affordable houses are built on larger building sites not pockets of land around farms . I'm going to give you this Bentley, its to grey and area for me to claim its 100% true and it doesn't effect the overall point about the lack of land allocated to building causing the price to be higher than it should. I have limited time and I have a second set of posters asking my opinion on immigration and how Would deal with that issue related to housing. Then the usual bollox post insults filling in the gaps. So I agree a large number of affordable homes are in housing estates and are on larger plots. You didn’t have it to give . Now maybe you can stop defending building on scattered plots of land that farmers don’t want by citing examples of building one or two extra houses on existing houses with large gardens. |

OK - I'll try one last time. We currently have a planning regulation that limits how much land is available for building. We also have a building industry that can build at most 200,000 houses a year (due to shortages in workforce and supplies). We also have a situation where not all land that does have planning permission is built on (due to the previously aforementioned shortages). So in your view releasing more land and thus bringing the price of that land down is going to get more houses built.. something does not compute. Increasing building over 200,000 units a year is not dependent on the price of land. And that number is fixed is it. 200,000 is it, can't be increased. I didn't know that. Who'd have thought it. Can you let the government know about this fixed number, only they are planning to build 300,000 a year by freeing up grey land. So where are all the workers coming from? - the Government can come out with any old bullshit but that doesn't mean you actually have to believe it. We currently have a shortage of skilled construction workers - how are you proposing to rectify this shortage?
