There is no such thing as a "denier" and you show your lack of understanding of science by using the term. As for knowing that "increasing the amount of CO2 increases the temperature of the planet", we do NOT know that. As I've said many times no experiment has managed to show this in the Earth's system (except at the ice caps or in a desert). And the climate models are built on this hypothesis but DON'T work. Also the figures you quote are wrong (as usual). Your source is either unreliable or you've just misunderstood. And if there were no CO2 there would be no plants - and therefore no heterotrophs (just some bacteria). And if there were no plants we don't know what temperature the planet would be - the calculation hasn't been done AFAIK. Also you need to factor in that the heating caused by CO2 is logarithmic (relative to concentration). In this case the same degree of heat retention is caused by doubling of CO2. So the same amount of warming occurs when changing the concentration of CO2 from 2ppm to 4ppm as occurs when changing it from 200ppm to 400ppm. The other point is that there is absolutely NO argument that without the Sun the temperature of the Earth would be -273C. The Sun generates a vast amount of heat and science always has a problem when it tries to measure effects when there are some factors that generate huge effects and some that generate relatively small effects. It means that the factors that generate the large effects have to be measured VERY accurately - which often can't be done. In these cases science tries to carry out a control experiment by eliminating the big factors, but that cannot be done in this case. That's why many scientists say that all warming can be attributed to the Sun's variations. It's by no means settled that CO2 is the predominant factor in warming. And the only "evidence" that you've come up with is an article by a Guardian hack who says that 95% of scientists say it is - but that has been completely discredited. Denier is not a scientific term at all. Its descriptive. Balh blah middle bit clearly completely wrong, can't be arsed to answer you again. Here Carbon dioxide is Earth's most important greenhouse gas: a gas that absorbs and radiates heat. Unlike oxygen or nitrogen (which make up most of our atmosphere), greenhouse gases absorb heat radiating from the Earth's surface and re-release it in all directions—including back toward Earth's surface. Then some fantasy about if the sun disappeared. And a stupid claim that we can't measure how much of the suns heat is hitting the planet. As for the guardian article. Who knew the guardian was so powerful. Every leader of every 1st world country is taking actions to lower Co2, many of these decisions not popular. Who'd have thought the Guardian was such a world leader. I thought it was reporting what others said, not leading them. All newspapers have editorial direction, believing otherwise is just wrong. Every leader in every 1st world country is in thrall to the climate catastrophe narrative. That does not mean it is true, it is just a useful tool to excuse all sorts of things that politicians see as difficult and a way to reorganise the world so that populations will not complain about how their lives will become meaner, darker, colder and narrower as that will happen for the most righteous of reasons. Where this is going is a very dangerous place indeed. I made a prediction about ten years ago on another forum that calls for euthanasia on the elderly, and the disabled, would become mainstream policies very soon in 1st world countries. MAID is now one of the main causes of death in Canada. Coming to a town near you soon.

Over the 16-day period downtown San Francisco received 345mm and in nearby Oakland totals reached 327.7mm, breaking their 16-day rainfall record. The significance of the flooding is only increased by having had extremely dry soils through the summer and autumn with severe droughts, therefore preventing soils from easily soaking up the intense rainfall that has occurred over recent weeks.
Tropical Cyclone Hale affected the North Island of New Zealand on 9-12 January. Severe thunderstorms brought 156.5mm to Hikuwai in Gisborne in the space of 12 hours, and more than 100mm to other places around Gisborne in the same period. Over the course of 18 hours, 219mm was recorded at Pinnacles in the Coromandel ranges and in Whitianga aerodrome on 10 January, making it the fifth wettest January day on record.
Meanwhile, extreme cold has swept across Russia, with an extraordinarily cold -62.1C
Hottest ever recorded temperature in the Uk this summer beating the previous one in 2020 and the one before that in 2019
I could list these all day, but I know you will just say the freaks or manipulated or it was warmer for the dinosaurs or some such.

Well, on this sunlight Bollox Did you know a black person absorbs more sunlight than a white one A bizarre revelation from a Neil Degrasse Tyson ‘startalk’ but actually factually accurate But FFS don’t tell Greta she’ll be demanding we exterminate the white people and fill the land mass with blacks to save the planet Mind you that might explain Twathead Dickfords Nation of Sanctuary Policy, fill every square metre with black skin and reduce reflected radiation and resultant atmospheric heating How does that work?
Some people will not make enough vitamin D from sunlight....... If you have dark skin – for example you have an African, African-Caribbean or south Asian background – you may also not make enough vitamin D from sunlight.

There are many questions with the hottest UK temperature. The fact it is at a working airport, the fact it is now measured by fast reaction probe as opposed to slow reaction mercury thermometers, the fact that the temperature zoomed up over 1.5C in 5 minutes, and dropped away almost as quickly. The Met office say it may have been wispy cloud cover yet satellite imagery at the time shows no wispy cloud cover. There are many questions as regards temperature records that ask serious questions about the results however the alarmists are always cock-a-hoop when records are broken and the Met office seem only too willing to oblige.

You would expect the 'record' temperature to steadily rise even if average temperatures were falling. It's in the definition.

The actual temperature records are recorded at different places, usually airports (strange that) or newly modernised botanic gardens. They take the readings at each location in the same place, what is not recorded is Typhoon aircraft taking off 100ft from the recording device ( about 100lbs fuel consumed per minute on take off) but at air temp 40C longer take off time required and more heat dissipated to runway air. Also fast response probes can record peaks that would not have been recorded by Max Min mercury thermometers with their slower response time becasue the peak could have come and gone before the mercury thermometers responded. When you are comparing like for like it is best to actually have like for like. It is strange how you rely on science but ignore it at will if it does not suit your viewpoint and ridicule counter arguments whilst not addressing counter arguments at all.

Zanygame, it's unscientific to use the word "denier" to describe those who debate the causes of "warming" because scientific theories are never regarded as "true". Science advances because people always challenge current thinking - even very successful theories like relativity. When people stop being sceptical that will be the end of science. The word you're looking for is "heretic". The trouble is that you never actually address the arguments. You're just making assertions and silly comments now. And you don't even bother to read posts that dispute your made-up figures. BTW did you even get an O-level in any scientific subject? I think we should be told.

Yes I got O'levels in Maths and Physics. Though I would say most of my knowledge has been gained after leaving school as I have a keen interest in the sciences.
Your turn.

So you basically have no academic background or work experience in science. Which is why you don't understand how science works. And your "keen interest in science" is basically googling for ideas that fit in with your own. There have been a lot of very good articles that have been linked to on this thread which do not support the scientific orthodoxy - and which cannot be characterised as "some bloke's blog". These are highly qualified scientists. And you've been asked a lot of salient questions - none of which you have answered. You've just made silly comments about dinosaur farts or aliens. Not only do you not know any of the answers - you haven't yet understood the question. You must have been a very difficult pupil at school. Did you always think you knew better than your teachers?

Luckily for me my lack of understanding science etc lead me to the same conclusions as 90+% of the worlds climate scientists. While your vastly inaccurate guesses of the amount of urbanised land and you wild assumptions on the cooling effects of forests on a global scale have bought you into agreement with a few crackpot bloggers. We'll leave it at that shall we.

It does not seem to matter how many times the paths to details as regards the 99% and the 97% of climate scientists lie is presented to you you still cast it up as though it is proven fact when it is a rather subjective assessment not even including anything like 90% of actual climate scientists. The Heartland Institute carried out a poll of climate scientists asking them directly and the number was the high 50s. A majority I agree but nothing like 90%. Yet here we are again.
