One of the claims of the leave campaign was that the UK and EU would still be close and cooperate after Brexit . And that was true.

Another cut and paste without a link ^ Yep. Those who copy shit and do not offer any thinking of their own are total shit-for-brains. At least when I post something it is my own work.

There shouldn't be any need to repair our relationship with the EU. All the UK ever did was to ask to leave the EU because it had gone in a direction that we didn't like. This is a perfectly valid thing to do but the EU took serious umbrage and has been trying to punish us ever since.
The less we have to do the the EU the better IMO. They've proved themselves completely untrustworthy.

What has Britain gained from Europe over the centuries? Constant war, political war.
America has been isolationist, it doesnt want to lose its sons to foreign wars, cant blame them for that, pulling out of Afghanistan was about that, and not paying a fortunee to do so, while other countries did nowt.
I can see Britain as a Finland or Switzerland, easy, screw those effers, they only want Britains money. France is an enemy, always has been.

Recent history would suggest, given the state of Europe today, that the EU is completely incompetent and the unelected presidents and commissioners know it. But they cant be voted out so why should they change policy, or for that matter give a damn what the hoi polloi think. Which is why the UK should distance itself from the EU. A forlorn hope with this government.
