You learn things and take on ideas.
There are no cultural excuses for being crappy to anyone.
No colour provides a legal excuse for crime.

Being black is an excuse for criminality because all white people are racists. As Patrisse Cullors, co-founder of BLM said, white people have to pay. And US corporations did, big time. Since then Patrisse Cullors property portfolio has increased significantly and £millions have disappeared from BLM coffers. Naturally, it would be racist to jump to conclusions. But I think corporate America is waking up.

You are never a blank canvas, you are born with genetic pressures to behave in certain ways as a means of survival. People(s) tend to shape a culture, culture can help shape people but it is a complicated process. European cultures tend to be similar as are African cultures. One has to decide within which culture one wishes to reside. Many Africans seem to have voted with their feet as regards where they would rather be. The problem of course is will Europe became more culturally African as the weight of numbers helps change the cultural norms. |

If parents are Hindu, Christian, Muslim etc, their kids will be Hindu, Christian, Muslim etc. If parents pray to the JuJu or the thunder god in the mountain, so will their Kids. If religion wasn't taught, if kids were not indoctrinated at an early age, religion would die out within one generation. |

As far as religion goes, nobody is born religious. Cultures, religions, prejudices, these are learned. But in some cultures people are born with a disposition to be religious in varying degrees of zealotry. What they are then exposed to hones the process to a lesser or greater degree. In Scotland religious zealotry is a well known problem before the 18th century and the clash of cultural differences and the desire to be zealous in other fields in part led to the Scottish enlightenment which helped shape the modern world. The blank canvas did not exist the genetic pressures to be different resulted in a philosophical explosion beyond the up to then narrow confines of religious intolerance. How those genetic pressures arose and why in Scotland is the stuff of endless discussion and did cultural upbringing also play a large part. What is clear is we are never a blank canvas. |

You lack scientific education. When you are born you have a set of genes. These define your characteristics. Genes are a bit like mineral ores. In different locations you will get different mixes of different genes so a rock in one place with one characteristic can imply it has certain other characteristics. It's often not such a case where the gene does not exist at all or is aways there, rather it's a probability issue. You can find out more on this by looking at genetic diseases, where in some populations the gene is common and others it is rare. There is always a bit of mixing going on though, so it is not exclusive in many cases. |

A culture has an effect on who survives and reproduces and who doesn't. To put in another way, a culture acts as selection.
The people who come out of this process then decide what the culture should be
Once you understand this you can easily see why moving people from one culture to another in large numbers can cause problems

There's kids carrying knives and stabbing each other. Labour have this ideological one size fits all. Either smacking is wrong or it is right. In the natural world, smacking is one option available out of many and a competent parent would select the best option according to the circumstances, not some ideological bent on purity in all action by all people. Socialism has a lot to answer for. |
