The trouble is going to come when it dawns on the Labour Government that the most misogynistic section of the community is the Muslim one. Labours love for identity politics starts eating itself.. The problem is they have a decidedly myopic view of that section of the communty.
In cardiff for example the pride parade had a float for a particular subset of followers of the prophet. I know because a homosexual liberal democrat councillor i worked with in a previous employment was heavily involved on getting it represented in the parade. The slogan decorating the side of the vehicle was "We're Here, We're Queer And We Don't Drink Beer"
And the Labour steering group were trying to explore ways the particiants in that float coud spread their message more widely amongst their faith community. And i cite that from an email they sent to said co-worker. Even HE - hardly an advocate for sharia law given his own frank admission he would be next for the skyward crane ride after me - had to admit some of his fellow councillors had an ever so slightly bonkers view of what micht be achieved...

I just don't get it. Is she trying to diminish the meaning of terrorism for some oddball scheme Labour are setting up?
These are the people who support a grown man winning a gold medal for punching the crap out of a woman. Also, surely the burkha is symbolic of mistrust toward women (especially when they're compulsory in some places), so if they want anything said about Islam that could be percieved as offensive outlawed then how do we address these paradoxes?
