I will always be in favour of helping the least well off in society, but the Winter Fuel Allowance is been handed to thousands of pensioners who are comfortable, well off and even wealthy, and its wrong. which percentage of pensioners are well off sid according to you , and why is it , in scotland for example , the government and agencies have said 300 000 less well off Scottish pensioners , never mind millions more in England and Wales , are going to be badly affected by labours decision to put some of the cost for the alleged black hole in the economy at pensioners doors? |

Labour have only just announced this stealing the winter fuel allowance , and we are currently the middle of summer. lets wait to see if we have a bad winter , and the media start covering pensioners struggling to heat homes , or even sadly dying , and I expect starmer and reeve to have egg on their faces , with a public humiliating climb down . imagine making pensioners pay for black holes in the economy? lets hope we all remember this come next election , how labour froze granny and grandpa to death. the party of the poor and helpless my fucking arse. |

Well seeubg there only 13% of pensioners in poverty you do the maths And 28% working households in poverty who do you think is the better off citizens there has been a significant rise in material deprivation among pensioners since the end of 2019 , largely driven by a large increase in pensioners saying they cant heat their home , and labour response? cut the winter fuel benefit and send people like you out to claim they are all rich. this is laughable. im working age , and I know from personal experience of my own household how the massive rise in bills , such as insurance ( 33% plus increase) food and much else , before we even get to heating , which trebled ,and is now back down to double what it was three years ago , so I dread to think what the average pensioner on a fixed income is dealing with all this. like I said , there is political stupidity , and then there is labour. |
