Freedom of movement and economic migrants have been a disaster, the EU should have had strict rule from day one about who was allowed move from one country to another Have you actually read the 1957 Treaty Of Rome I mean the original one, in French, because there was no English version in 1957 If you read it, you will see that on day one, only private companies could offer jobs to other states citizens, no citizen of one country could work for another's oublic sector, and any country could stop free movement and repatriate foreigners if the government determined free movement threatened existing citizens employment So ON DAY ONE the EEC had a lot of the controls we would demand But lefty scum kept widening the scope |
