Maybe Labour will tell us where the money will come from . If they are honest they will admit it will come from pensioners and middle class taxation .. Anyone doing well will be taxed to the hilt. Apparently the cuts in NI payments have made Pension a greater cost to the country, so expect some cuts to pensions.

If pensions are cut it will be for political relations not because of a shortage of collected NI.

I think we all know Starmer’s first action on immigration will be to welcome a certain ISIS supporter and wife (or is it widow now(?)) of a dutch ISIS fighter back to Britain so she can recapture the islamic vote for Labour
His next move will of course be an amnesty for every freeloader who has come over by rubber boat, and he will stop the boats by handing out free passports and NI numbers to every illegal who wanders up to his passport stand on Calais’ seafront

Only time will tell. Meanwhile UK Governments (like many others) tries to work within international laws that has many countries by the short and curlies.

"National Insurance is now used to pay for: The NHS Unemployment benefit Sickness and disability allowances The state pension". I repeat . NI contributions do not go into a specific pot for those benefits . ”Unlike income tax, NICs are not charged on income from other sources such as savings, pensions or property. Payment of NICs qualifies individuals to receive certain social security benefits (most notably the state pension). In practice, however, the link between contributions paid and benefits received is vanishingly weak and NICs essentially act as a second income tax.” ifs.org.uk/taxlab/taxlab-taxes-explained/national-insurance-contributions-explained

Yes of course the small boat problem will be an issue at this election, but it wont be at the top of the agenda of voters biggest concerns.
According to polling, particularly from a major survey conducted recently by IPSOS on behalf of ITV News shows the number 1 issue is The Economy, 2 The NHS, 3 Prices and the Cost Of Living, 4 Immigration.
Less than a quarter of the electorate feel that Immigration is a top priority

Its certainly on my list of why I vote for certain parties but maybe not a priority . The gates to underworld have been open for too long and both the main parties wont go up against the european courts so there is little point in making it a priority .
