If what I'm listening to is correct Rowley is hanging onto his job by the skin of his teeth. Sunak said he still has confidence in the Commissioner, but his words were heavily caveated, he also said the Home Sec will be having a meeting with the Commissioner. Oh to be a fly on the wall in that meeting. It is so clearly a media event concocted to cause the Met embarrassment by getting a Jewish chap to wear their traditional head-gear and demand to walk though a Muslim protest against Israeli aggression in Israel as seen in Muslim eyes. The police officer knew he will likely be attacked and prevented this yet people are there to quickly disseminate it to the media to attack the Met and our compliant media do not ask enough questions.

Don't talk bloody rubbish man. Time and again the police have shown themselves, by their actions, to be very partial. The police have ignored Hamas flags, Isis flags and swastikas. For months The Met Police Commissioner, no doubt enthusiastically supported by the Muslim mayor, has allowed London to be brought to a standstill every weekend by people who are openly anti Jewish. The demonstrations should stop, now. Enough is enough. Having said that it will be difficult to stop them because the police have shown the left wing mob how weak they are.

So, like most posters here (and most people according to today’s Times) you don’t think the Police are doing (can do?) their job. You must agree that sacking a few officers and replacing the commissioner hasn’t improved the Met’s performance in the past. Do you think a bit more tinkering around the edges, putting a few out to grass, and replacing top management — again — is really going to improve things now? Don’t you think a complete root and branch appraisal of the Met, its mission, how that’s to be achieved, and the personnel required to do the job and retain the confidence of the public, is really the only way forward…?

I never said, or suggested that the police cant do their job. Clearly they could, but choose not to. For the past seven months the Met have allowed left wing types and Muslims to bring London to a standstill every weekend as they turn the British capital city into a no go area for Jews. The police ignore Hamas flags, Isis flags, swastikas, and hate chants projected up the world famous landmark that is Big Ben, and the policing bill for these demonstrations until the begining of March was £32 million. The police could do their job, but the Met in particular have demonstrated many times over the past couple of years that very senior officers are far more concerned about political correctness, unicorns and rainbows, than promoting a professional police force. Rot starts at the top not the bottom, which is why Rowley must go.

Do you really think another new commissioner is going to mark that much difference — what improvements in policing have been achieved with the others…?

Of course, it was the relentless pressing of a race grievance agenda on the police service that turned police forces into a mental hospital patient with a head injury - to the extent that some parts now seem to be trying to enforce emergent 'no go zones' for Jewish people to keep Jihadis happy.
What is needed desperately is a dramatic change in direction back to enforcing law and civilised values

The police do not make the rules over who can march though they can give risk warnings. The problem they have though is if they are obliged to help overly Jewish types or Brits against Islam crossing through their march would require dozens more police and I guess they don't have the budget so the policing is a compromise as they are balancing numbers with crime events likely to kick off elsewhere.

I think the underlying problem is we appear to be obliged to allow third-worldist mobs to stage repeated and extensive 'occupations' of the public spaces in our cities.
If we follow the same reasoning along, eventually such mobs will be able tell us all where we can , and can not, go

Quite.
In all confrontations the best policy is to separate the various factions and leave them to scream whatever rubbish is currently in fashion. Afterwards everyone can go home, happy and unharmed.

Perhaps the current Met Police / City of London Police could be totally disbanded, shall we say on 1st June this year. The month of June will be used to reform and re-organise with the new London Police Service becoming a new force to be reckoned with on July 1st.
The month of June would have no policing at all to see how we get on. We might fair better without them.

If you don't have any Police on the streets of London for a month you wont need a Police service you will need a Police Paramilitary Force .

I'd also give it about three days before even the most ardent critics of the police would be begging for their return.
But perhaps society needs to learn that lesson.

Don't talk bloody rubbish man. Time and again the police have shown themselves, by their actions, to be very partial. The police have ignored Hamas flags, Isis flags and swastikas. Don’t you think a complete root and branch appraisal of the Met, its mission, how that’s to be achieved, and the personnel required to do the job and retain the confidence of the public, is really the only way forward…? The problem with your proposal is that the only people who know how to police are... The Police. So you'd end up replacing the police with the police. Attempts have been made before. The National Crime Agency was to take over certain policing functions. Problem was, the NCA had zero knowledge or experience of law enforcement. So they employed ex-cops and seconded serving cops to sort it out. So you ended up with the NCA being run by the police in all but name. And, as police officers were subsequently withdrawn from the NCA, it proved unequal to the task and a number of areas of NCA responsibility were quietly handed back to the police. As I've said before: Society gets the policing it deserves. You can reform the police any way you like but, subject to the same pressures, it will always turn back into the same thing. You have the policing that you asked for. And you're stuck with it until you ask for something else.

You have the policing that you asked for. And you're stuck with it until you ask for something else. You raise some real dangers, and they show how extensive and complete planning and preparation would need to be for the Met to be disbanded and reassembled into an organisation that has the public’s trust. Nevertheless, the disbanding and reforming of the RUC into the PSNI shows how such an approach can win back trust in an organisation by the people it polices. The Times also covered a survey into public satisfaction with the Police… www.thetimes.co.uk/article/lack-of-confidence-in-police-threatens-british-policing-model-crime-justice-commission-fkhv0vhzf
