Part of the problem is that the Supermarkets are already buying eggs in the EU, and they are not paying a good enough price to our egg producers

Why don't we import them from the EU? Why should we need to ? Just a thought, we will be able to, soon.

We are able to already. But why would we need to ? Funny you should say that
I was at the allotment a while back and the lass on a neighbouring plot was breaking up some pallets, so Madam went over and said you don't want to do that. That is why women have boyfriends and husbands.
Herself is quite old fashioned and the girl appeared to be of the same mind, because pretty soon her chap was hammering and thumping at the pallets and getting nowhere. So after a bit I said lad, men will never win the war, but sometimes we can manage a minor skirmish or two. And I loaned him my pallet breaker, which had the job done in no time. And the next time I saw the lad he brought me some eggs he had gotten from his mum, who keeps eggs in her back garden.
So the question is, if a poor old widow lady can afford the feed for a few hens, why can't Agribusiness Farmers?

Bird flu is a bit rampant in some areas . So there possibly is a shortage of eggs anyway.

Apparently the egg farmers want a extra 40p per dozen eggs and the supermarkets won't pay them.
But if the supermarkets met the farmers prices the price of eggs will go up and inflation will rise .
Has anyone notice how much milk is this days

The supermarkets have raised the price of eggs anyway, inflation has risen. The thing is that farmers aren't being given their share of the supermarkets profits and that is what this is really about.
In this case I cannot blame the farmers, they should be paid more.
