Appeasement is the same as pulling the trigger on innocent civilians yourself.

The West tried for 23 years to appease Putin, in that time Russia has done from fledgling democracy back to full blown authoritarian dictatorship.
If there is anything to criticise the West for, it did to little too late and hundreds of thousands of people (mostly innocent people) are dead because of Putin's imperialist violence. We ran down our fuel industries and our militaries and left ourselves vulnerable.
We tolerated Russian hitmen murdering people in our countries instead of lashing back and hitting Putin with hard sanctions early and making sure we had our own coal, gas and oil to use instead of Russian imports.
We let the Russian mafia launder money in our countries, interfere in our politics, and threaten our security.
But Dub is not talking about that. He wants us to continue to appease the most corrupt dictatorship on the planet, to throw Ukraine to the dogs and turn our back on hundreds of thousands of people whilst Putin's army murders them.

We lost any momentum we may have had against Putin, or any real willingness to stand up to him when the EU green-lit the NordStream Project. Putin know then he had us by the balls. The intelligence services must have briefed Blair. And yet appeasement was chosen instead of sanctions.
In 2014, after the illegal theft of Donetsk Luhansk and Crimea by Russia, leaders like Merkel, Hollande, Cameron, Harper (former PM of Canada), Obama, spoke of negotiations, peace talks. Fucking disgraceful, we should have armed Ukraine to the teeth then, and hit Russia with huge sanctions then.

All Ukrainians are Russian speakers, just as all the Yanks are English speakers. Them speaking Russian doesn't make them Russian any more than it makes a Yank one of us. There was no justification in invading so much as an inch of Ukrainian soil. The Ukrainians are not Russians. The people of Donetsk and Luhansk and Crimea are Ukrainians, not Russians. All of Ukraine including Donetsk and Luhansk and Crimea voted by more than 50% for independence from Russia.
