I'm always sympathetic to local folk who band together to repel mass invasion. Not so sympathetic towards those who see such invasions as an opportunity to make a fast buck and usually don't give a bugger about local folk. So what happens when the cafes and pubs shut because there is not enough footfall ? Your little village will become just a few houses on the side of the road with boarded up businesses Not necessarily. If it is an attractive place in an appealing location there will be plenty of demand for upscale properties. Cafes and pubs (etc) will soon follow if not already there. The key is to pitch your offering to the local inhabitants, not tourists. |

I once bumped into Judith Chalmers in the Costwolds, this is going back years, I cant remember why I was in a chemists but as I walked out of the shop she walked in and bumped into me, she got really shitty about it. And now a scruffy billionaire who resembles Worzel Gummidge and pays no taxes in this country who is minority owner wants the people who do actually pay taxes to cough up for a new stadium to attract more hordes of people with no connection to the place to rock up there and jam the roads and make a nuisance of themselves  |

It seems such a miserable place that I suspect I never will. Why bother, when the place has even less appeal than Albania?

Except when they let Jaydee lose to renew his prescription and he raises the crann tara and sets his trews on fire and he ends up back in A & E, much to the delight of the local small business men and women who know what really brings in the tourists
