Yet again he states the truth...
John Lydon has lashed out at the apparent effects of immigration in the UK during a fiery LBC interview in which he doubled down on his support for Brexit.
The former Sex Pistols frontman, who is himself the son of immigrants, rose to fame with the punk band in the mid-Seventies with songs such as âGod Save the Queenâ and âAnarchy in the
UK.â
John Lydon former Anarchist voting Brexit .yep makes sense conconcidering them mess the County is in . The laugh i think is on you then for not understanding the difference between a performer and the performance. This is twelve years old but harks back to a time around when I met the man - in a pub near Covent Garden. Interesting weekend that. www.hamhigh.co.uk/things-to-do/21384237.john-lydon-an-anarchist-never-whoever-told-/

John Lydon should check out his facts before making such claims, he states that seaside towns are run down and that the cause is immigrants. I have lived in a seaside town all my life, and the problems are not caused by immigrants, the social issues are as a result of the seasonal tourist trade, no work in Winter, low pay, and quite often a housing market with over inflated prices due to incommers, pushing most locals out. For generations, many of our seaside towns have had high unemployment, a lack of housing and a lack of good jobs with decent wages. Mr Lydon does what a lot of people do who have simple minds, they choose to blame immigrants rather than research the REAL causes of problems. Many moons ago when we were kids we used to go on holiday to Blackpool which is now called the Heroin capital on the North West, Skegness and similar places and used to stay in B&B if we were lucky, you had to be back at the Hotel before 10pm or you were locked out, they were clean but certainly not palatial. The demise of our seaside resorts began when cheap flights to Spain etc came about, cheaper than a weeks stay in Blackpool and better weather that IMHO is what caused the demise of our seaside towns. For the last 18 months or so wife and I visited seaside places from Norfolk to Portland bill looking for a place to retire to, we did decide on just inland from Weymouth but all we saw in most of them were drunks , druggies, and alleged asylum seekers on the sea fronts, it was difficult to find a Hotel for the night at the Hotels were fill of alleged asylum seekers. That is why we changed our minds to move to Ireland instead, yes they have a similar problem to the UK but not in such huge numbers, they too are getting angry about the number of alleged asylum seekers arriving week in week out, it is difficult to find affordable housing and certainly unaffordable in places such as Dublin, the Crime rate is going up due gang fights over the Drugs Trade same as here in the UK

Johnny Lydon is still wrong, and so are MOST posters, I bet Lydon has never lived in a seaside town
Most seaside towns DO NOT have hotels full of immigrants, there are 8 towns along the long 100 mile stretch of coastline where I live, and in my home town there are no immigrants that I know of in any hotels. I have genuinely only ever heard of one large hotel 20 miles down the coast which has been used for asylum seekers.
THe ACCURATE Time Line of what happened to out seaside towns goes like this ... 1960s ... Our seaside towns were thriving in Summer, but there was a problem in Winter when unemployment went up, and most tourism jobs were poor pay.
1970s ... the "Package Holiday Trade" began to really take off, suddenly holidays in the sun in Spain were afordable to working class people, and our traditional seaside resorts began to take a hit.
1980s ... The decline set in, and many resorts started to realise that they needed to do something to bring tourists back, and a lot of resorts thought of new ideas and new attractions.
1990s ... SOME resorts survived and were successfull, others continued to decline, the ones that did well were the older, historical, scenic places such as in Cornwall, the Yorkshire Coast and Dorset etc.
PLaces like Blackpool, Skegness, Clacton and Cleethorpes now began to look run down, shabby and neglected, and whereas in the 1960s and 70s families booked for a week, today the trade is totally different, its now mainly weekend breaks, two night stays, piss-ups, hen parties, gangs, workmates, lads groups etc.
By far the biggest cause of run down resorts has been improvement in living standards, ordinary people now go abroad for a week, or a fortnight, they no longer go to Bournemouth or Blackpool.
Tourist towns were never rich places, tourism only offers poor wages, and much of the work is seasonal, and in the popular destinations ( the pretty towns ), property prices force most locals out of the market.
But I reiterate; Immigrants have NOT made any significant contribution to the run down state of many of our seaside towns.
