Well I think the problem with that is you don't get the real community experience. Over where I live there are people of all ages so it feels natural. We have a local park as well where the teenagers party on a weekend evening. I'm glad they do because they would end up right stunted and boring bastards if they only ever sat and watched a screen. It's just what i did as a teenager, instead we had a common where we met the girls who came back from the girls high school each day. It's all part of the English tradition, and I'm glad it survives. In fact come to think of it I've been pretty lucky with the places I've lived in. Over in Manchester we had a founder of the band 808 State and New Order also lived locally. Remember Blue Monday?
The thing is these old people's neighbourhoods are artificial. How are the young ones thinking of joining the army today going to know anything if they don't talk to an expert like yourself who can speak the truth to them? My view is this separation of the generations is all part of a government plan to fuck us all up. If you start off with a normalised community in the first place and it is good and everyone is happy then no one can come in and woke the place up cos they will be told to fuck off.
Our town has a bit of a history of looking after its own interests. In the 1950s the plan was to concrete over England with 1950s communist brutalist architecture. They managed to do one block and then got no further and because of this action the original charm of the town was maintained which today is paying back strong dividends as it is seen as desirable, hence we have a strong trade in visitors. As for quiet, well it's perfectly quiet where I am except for the birds in the trees. I just do a short walk into town and there is some life, so I can choose how quiet I want to be. We have a nice walk along the river quite local to us as well if you want some countryside.
By the way, bungalows are excellent. I live in one myself and it really is much better than the last house I had where I had my office upstairs and I was forever going up and down up and down all day long.
