The Tories are so crap they cannot even do a tax cutting budget properly - they are looking at increasing taxes... To fund this, a package of measures is being drawn up, with options understood to be targeting the wealthy.
One proposal under discussion is increasing air passenger duty for those in business class, potentially raising hundreds of millions of pounds.
Another measure under consideration is abandoning perks on second home owners who make money from holiday lets, raising an estimated £300 million.
The pair are also set to scrap or scale back “non dom” status to raise money, forcing wealthy people who live abroad but make money in the UK to pay more tax.
The word 'potentially' is so damn useful.

Makes no odds - there is nothing to choose between the two of them. As George Galloway said 'two cheeks of the same arse' Don’t the LibDems stem from the orifice in between…?

A tory win at the next election, or a Labour one. I say Tory. Whichever way it goes, the entertainment value is huge, the problem with that is that our lives are being destroyed, our standard of living is going to plummet whatever. I tend to agree, the Tories have become too complacent, too centrist. They need a period in opposition so they can get rid of the rot and out of the glare of government regroup and concentrate on reforming a proper centre right Conservative party in time for the next election, and after 5 years of Labour I suspect the country will be begging for a Conservative victory in 2029. Do you remember the News of the World? It became so utterly corrupt that Mr Murdoch wisely decided to shut it down. It was simply beyond repair.
Tories are now defecting to Reform and last time I looked Reform was 13% and Cons 16%. This is with the Reform vote increasing and the Cons decreasing. If they cross over then you could argue any Tory MP would stand a better chance of being re-elected with Reform. You have to ask as a Con, jut how low can your support go, and if it gets so low, will it just vanish entirely? It really wasn't genius thinking to put an Indian at the head of the party. Go woke and go broke, lol.

It might. But i recall Ed Milliband’s election campaign in which the main features were the Ed Stone, and the fact comparing the manifestoes showed the only difference i would have noticed is tbe tories were putting inheritance tax up by £50k more than labour. Apart from that you could not have slid a rizla paper between them. Clear blue or pink water my fragrant arse

The point is the party members did not want him end of. But they were crushed. It’s really not good to tell the people who think they now choose the leader that they are actually a force to be ignored at will like the rest of the country.
