. .They also plcontinuedantly surprised me by increasingand the so-called living wage from £9.50 to £10.42, which is only 3p short of 10% and thus very nearly in line with inflation which is also goounemploymentnest I was anticipating a much smaller rise. . . . An evil move Hunt tries to take the credit for a move that he has to pay nothing for because the burden falls completely on employers and a move that will make the predicted huge rise in unemployment worse while also further fuelling inflation. I suppose your one of them that said In 1998 when the minimum wage was introduced said that companys couldnt afford the minimum wage and many would close down. that phophecy of doom never materialised. has for unemployment raising since the introduftion of minimum wage the unemployment level has continued to fall now we have record unemployment

Rubbish ^.
When the NMW came in we saw an end to the steady decline in unemployment and the dawn of the evil lie that '4% unemployment is full employment" It isn't. We have 1.5 million officially unemployed and millions more shunted off the official stats by classifying them as disabled etc and millions more on insecure gig employment. We should be aiming for a far more inclusive society than that.
Hunt's move was cynical. Claiming glory for the spend of companies, placing more jobs at risk while sneakily pocketing 55% of the increase through the taper rate in benefits.
