Sunak has removed the whip from Lee Anderson but he's also being challenged to say what the Tory's attitude to Islamophobia is, by the likes of Baroness Warsi and Sadiq Khan. So what's he going to say?
Is he going to tell the truth and say that the muslims just get the treatment they deserve, for all the trouble they cause in this country (and every other country where they've migrated to)? Probably not.
Is he going to point out that muslims are NOT a race and therefore it's not racism to be anti-muslim? Again probably not, even though the Tories haven't agreed to the APPG definition of the meaning of Islamophobia (which defines it as a form of racism).
Is he going to say that being anti-islam is perfectly legal because it's a religion (a religion that's been unreformed since AD700) and it's perfectly valid to dislike Islam for the many unpleasant AND illegal attitudes it has - like the attitudes to homosexuals and women for example and its political wing (Islamism). Probably not.
Or is he going to fudge the whole issue as usual. Remember when David Amess was murdered by that muslim. What did the politicians say about this? Did they say that it's about time we did something about these fucking muslims? Not in public anyway. Their public utterances were to the effect that the danger to our politicians was not due to muslim terrorists but that it was due to social media - and all the nasty attacks on MPs. Nothing to do with muslims. This is just the biggest BS ever - grade 1 gaslighting from people who are shit-scared of offending the muslims.
Lee Anderson (and Suella Braverman) have had the courage to call out the enemy within and Anderson has correctly blamed Sadiq Khan for being part of the islamist plot to take over London. Anybody who denies this is an idiot. Khan is a hard-line muslim. He's also in charge of the Metropolitan Police and could perfectly easily have stopped all the ant-semitic chanting on the London "pro Palestinian" marches. He could also have stopped the projection of "From the River to the Sea" on Big Ben if he'd wanted to - but he doesn't. Has he even mentioned it? Yet Sunak has said nothing about Braverman and has suspended Anderson. COWARD.
As I've been writing this Mishal Hussein has been aggressively interviewing Mark Harper on the Tories' attitude to Islamophobia. She asked if he accepted that Islamophobia was as bad as Anti-semitism - and Harper just waffled. The answer to that question is NO! Islamophobia is just the attitude of any rational person towards a wicked and outdated religion that is incompatible with British values (and our laws). Anti-semitism is just straightforward racism. And he could have told Ms Hussein that most muslims are ant-semitic and asked her what she thought of that. That would have been very interesting.
