Yes, modern ones, with modern work and living wages for those who do the work. That way they can build a CV and rebuild their lives whilst not having to worry where their next meal is coming from, or whether they'll have a bed for the night. Weird to see a "leftie" opposing such an idea. And, attached to the modern workhouse, a recreational facility with a dry bar, cash operated pool tables, music, television, a library. Stuff for people to do. And outside, a sports field. |

Immigration is more about not caring about where you live and taking a short cut to a better life. I went round a hospital for people with a learning disability, there were sayings on walls. One said that people that were dying on the job were not lying down, and dont leave, make the place where you are better.
Staff retention was a problem.
" Dont leave, make the place where you are better".
That could be applied to all illegal and legal immigrants.
Stand up to social deprivation, poverty, war, starvation, injustice?.......etc.

Britain doesnt know how lucky it is, and the way politics is going is that we will soon be in the same boat, pun intended, as those coming here. Would you fight for the above, democracy, at least a minor version of it?
I would. Migrants need to make the place where they are better......NOT BAIL OUT. Workhouses are a must, you cant get a living by doing nowt, its SOOOOOOOO unhealthy, for the person and society. If they want to avoid a workhouse, get a job, better still, get an education and get a good job.
You will never see a sparrow or an ant drinking coffee all day watching the box. If they did, they would die pretty quick.
