A man has died after being shot by armed police in south-east London, the Metropolitan Police has said. Officers were responding to calls for help from the occupants of an address in Southwark, who said the man was trying to force his way inside the property. The man, believed to be in his 30s, was armed with a crossbow and was threatening to harm residents at the address. It seems the chap with a crossbow had other unspecified weapons and did get into the property and injure the occupants. It would appear the police had no choice other than to shoot him - link |

Many a crossbow can defeat bulletproof armour. A thug armed with one was threatening people. That's what this was about.
This situation was not fault of the Police.

Even if that had been the case, situation was too far gone for any other response than a bullet.
Glad that when it is necessary, our Police still have teeth, otherwise this could have been a much worse situation.
