Labours bankrupt Birmingham city council has plans to get rid of thousands of car park spaces in a bid to force private petrol and diesel cars off the roads. The move is part of Birmingham City Council's new Transport Plan which details widespread parking changes set to affect residents and tourists - link But I suspect there's more to this than meets the eye. As we all know the motorist is an easy target, so bankrupt Labour Birmingham city council have decided to flog off very lucrative city centre car parks for no other reason than to raise funds, but of course they're dressing it up as a 'green' initiative.

Just listened to an economist talking about this, he said of the 30 million cars on the roads in this country 94% are petrol or diesel. Banning tens of thousands of petrol/diesel cars comming into a city every day is bound to have an adverse effect on the cities economy, and Birmingham council are already bankrupt.
