Instead of trying to Shift the high death rate onto.labour rule decades ago why not just accept it's down to the present Administration of Scotland the SNP. About 40 percent of users in Scotland are currently in treatment, according to Dr. Lesley Graham of the National Health Services of Scotland. In England that figure is closer to 60 percent. The challenge for Scotland is to get more people into treatment — and to keep them there.

Drug taking is usually a long term issue , and the stats show many of the drug takers who were dying of overdose on hard drugs were in their mid forties , and social services and the police normally had records of them taking drugs going back years , where the problem began under labour long before the snp came to power. As usual , another ticking time bomb labour have left for other parties to clean up and take the Blame for.

OK accept drug addiction can be over a long time but you haven't proven what the Drug rate was back I'n labours time and are you Claiming there been no drug taking since SNP. But My point still stands it's the Inadequate drug care The SNP provide . Don't you think people in England not had a Drug Addiction for Decades but the Death rates In Scotland is much Higher. Belive me I'm All for Scotland getting there independence .But you Scottish are showing a Shabby job of it .

It's in the UK, the UK has had successive governments, both local and national castrating the powers of the Police out of fear of offending someone. Meanwhile, drug gangs, travelling thieves, and political religious rape gangs et al, rob, kill, and ruin lives.
Regarding Scotland, well the SNP and their insane anti booze policies are paying dividends. Because booze is more expensive, hard drugs are becoming more prevalent up in Scotland.

Don't know about more drugs hard drugs becoming more prevalent because beer more expensive. There no doubt that Scotland still has a High Alcoholic problem. But tell you what seemed to Happen since the added tax on cheep Alcohol the Violent Crime rate in Scotland has tumbled Down.

The West Coast of Scotland and Western Isles are battered by bad weather most of the year, and during the nice bits, it's midgie season. What do you expect them to do, go out for walks and get soaked / eaten alive by midgies and horseflies?
Relaxation after a day's work in Western Scotland for many involves something relaxing whether it be beer, whisky or temazepam.
Consider the environment in which they live, there isn't much to do, and the SNP fascists have made life more miserable.

Whiskey is Irish / American. There's no E in Scotch Whisky.
Of course a lot of Scots have a fondness for whisky, it goes back centuries. At one time wine from France was popular, but due to difficulties in getting it, the Scots started brewing and distilling. Grapes don't grow so well in Scotland, so they adapted and opted for the grain instead, specifically malted barley.
A good whisky, is a work of art in a bottle. Take Macallan, gloriously smooth and great to accompany a good book with on a cold dark windy night. Ok, nowadays there's TV and even the internet, but a good whisky is a good whisky. You can have it with a pint chaser, you can while away an evening chatting with friends and chewing the fat, but a good whisky, it is art. It is to be appreciated, not guzzled.
