Another good hit by the Met and Constabularies working together, from todays Evening Standard
Eighteen men have been jailed after the police uncovered a vast drug supply network in east London.
In total 42 men have been convicted, disrupting the supply of millions of pounds worth of drugs to Hampshire and Brighton, following a three-year investigation by officers from Hackney and Tower Hamlets.
Police found a dedicated drug network after they seized two phones in 2020 and accessed large amounts of data and messages. Shakir Uddin was also convicted by the police for the drug offences the investigation found 14 supply lines which have now been closed.
Police also uncovered a sophisticated criminal network of men who pretended to be cab drivers to supply around 37 kilograms of drugs, including, cocaine, heroin, crack cocaine, MDMA, ketamine and cannabis.
Specialist officers carried out 49 search warrants, leading to 42 men being arrested and charged with drug supply offences. Jewellery worth £54,000, £200,000 in cash, and drugs with a street value of £83,000 were also seized.

Police should be applauded, management has certainly upped its game — Background checks of all police officers and staff have found more than 400 links to previously undisclosed misconduct, including crime. Nine new criminal investigations have begun following the checks and 88 officers will be formally disciplined. Criminal allegations to emerge include theft, fraud, drugs and three sexual offences. Police chiefs began checking records after the conviction, in January 2023, of PC David Carrick for 49 offences…www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-68061370#:~:text=Background%20checks%20of%20all%20police,officers%20will%20be%20formally%20disciplined.

It can be done if the MET are allowed to get on with job, rather than shuffeling paper..

These arrests and convictions have little to do with Senior Officers they are figureheads, some are good some are not so good, yes there are bad eggs in the Police including Police Staff they are being dealt with which is what the Senior Officers should have done when vetting applicants a long time ago. But it happens in any large organisations, the Post Office a perfect example largest miscarriage's of justice this country has ever seen, the Civil Service, local Councils, NHS, even Parliament etc The Police are racially abused everyday, non white officers get even more abuse from within their own ethnic community , in England and Wales a Police Officer gets abused threatened , assaulted, some seriously, ever 30 mins If you want to see real Police Corruption try Ghana , they blew away 8 unarmed innocent young men who had nothing to do with a recent robbery, if they arrest you if you can pay they release you, and the Senior Officers get a large bung etc The real Police work is done by those lower down the food chain the street cops listening to the community seeing what is happened where and when intelligence gathering, paid informants, other criminals who want the Police to remove their opposition other drug dealers etc. One stop and search where drugs and weapons are found can lead to even more intelligence which can lead to such large drugs arrests uncover surveillance, the electronic boffins Specialist Officers are deployed, even during Covid the Police kept working gathering more and more intelligence on this case and many others. One only has to look at the major trials that we read about coming to Court week in week out and there are many more are in the pipeline , here in London some are young black gang members charged with murdering other rival gang members, or some childish insult, and they don't give a dam if they go to prison or not it enhances their street cred. Since all these protests in London began and now the war in Gaza on top , hundreds of uniformed officers are dragged into deal with them up to two thousand Officers a day, it has cost millions of pounds and thousands of hours of Police time, they are knackered all leave cancelled they are working to clock round, but no matter what there still be complained about day in day out. As fast as new recruits are accepted many also leave had enough of abuse the antisocial hours which are not healthy to say the least, poor pay and conditions, older Cops are counting the days to retirement, had enough of the abuse.
