ive asked you a number of reasonable questions in this thread , which you refuse to answer or supply any detail on . This isn't the mark of a reasoned debater or a person confident in his own arguments , which appear completely lame . I answered them, you ignored the answers and continued with your psycho babble. I listed the things I was referring to you ignored the list. Why would I continue with this crap. both John of gwent and I have asked you questions which you sidestepped. you appear to be getting a bit hysterical zany. your arguments aren't stacking up in any way shape or form .

The cost of adapting a country designed of centuries for one type of weather that then gets a different type of weather. The fact our land drains are not designed for flash flooding our roofs not designed for 40 degree heat, our rivers, drains, sluices etc not designed for a months rain in 3 days. Go to any French or Spanish town on the Med and you will see storm drains 30ft wide running through the middles. That's because their climate creates massive thunderstorms which release tons of rain in a few minutes. We didn't used to get that weather other than a once in every 100 freak event. Then there's the insects, moulds, fungi, viruses, that our plants have no natural protection against because they couldn't live in our climate, but they're here now. Not centuries, the weather in the early 19th century is not the same as the weather now and we are adapted to what we have in general terms. One of the major problems is increased run off in the catchment areas of rivers prone to flooding. Shrewsbury is ringed by bypasses and industrial sites, soakaways have proliferated but the run off from all that hard surface goes into the Severn quicker than it would have done in the past so it is not surprising that flooding occurs further downstream; Bewdley has flood defences which channels flood water quicker downstream and then it is no surprise that Worcester and Tewkesbury flood regularly. Erratic rainfall is a feature of our climate and has been for many centuries off and on. we did this in depth previously sandy , pointing out rainfall record go back a brief period , and the met office themselves are only using data regarding rainfall going back to the seventies if I mind correct. Further we points out modern housing , is increasingly being built on floodplains , maintenance on drainage is not being carried out , and much more. zany is floundering badly , because at the end of the day we come back to the same point , no one in any way shape or form is going to tolerate punitive taxes to fight an imaginary climate issue .

Same all over the country Sandypine , and yet we are told to build more houses , its a simple equation ,the more concrete you put in the ground the higher the flood .Deforestation is also a contributor with more run off from fields . Flooding is more a result of population increase than climate change . Zanygame does have a point though , having put all the concrete in the ground we do need to update the drains especially in areas with joint sewers as it can get rather smelly .

Erratic rainfall is a feature of our climate and has been for many centuries off and on. The statistics disagree with your view that we are not seeing change. And even if you were right at the moment the planet is warming and that will change pretty much every countries weather. But even today. On the Trent, a 3.46-metre flood level would now be expected to occur every 9.38 years, on average, in 2024. This makes sense, considering there have already been six events in which the river level exceeded 3.5 metres since the 1980s. theconversation.com/extreme-uk-flood-levels-are-happening-much-more-often-than-they-used-to-analysis-shows-220788#:~:text=On%20the%20Trent%2C%20a%203.46,3.5%20metres%20since%20the%201980s. This is villages all along the Trent, not built up, not urban sprawl or blocked culverts, just too much rain.

But you are right, no one has ever explained to the public the cost of doing nothing about climate change whats the cost zany?

Doing it in depth at any point on any forum seems to run the risk of doing it in depth a couple of weeks later. I think the cultists, a very apt description, are ever increasingly on the defensive as more info comes to light and more people come over in varying degrees to the sceptics. I think clarity on green policies will be sought by much of the electorate come the GE and now the parties have to fess up as regards what they intend to do and the cost to the man in the street.

The UK was joined to Africa thousands of years ago, its irrelevant. But I'm taking a break from here mate, there's no one left to debate with who learns about the topics before starting. Enjoy talking to all those who agree with you and weaving immigration into every topic. Cheers Zany

I have not said we have not seen change but change is a natural event and may be due to many other factors other than a climate emergency. Your example of the Trent which flows through the North Midlands and Nottingham is indicative of the fact, that is referred to in your link, that river management and increased or changed run off is part and parcel of any noted problems.

We can now add hypocrisy to your diminishing reputation on this forum.
