Woke means whatever the generally accepted meaning is applied to it. It seems impossible to get into the usual suspects heads that dictionaries are always slightly behind the curve . That’s why words are added , amended and erased . It was applied in a rather stupid and sanctimonious way in the first place which seems to have backfired on the sanctimonious lefties that invented it . I will never forget Lisa Nandy's [Labour front bench] comments on Joe Biden winning the US presidential election, she excitedly declared; 'Joe Biden is a really woke guy and an inspiration for Labour'.
