No you presented two old stories (one dating from last July) as if they were current news stories. That was deliberately misleading. Most people would call that lying. 

I have no idea if today's story is accurate or not - history suggests that any correlation between a GB News story and the truth is entirely co-incidental - but we can talk about the wider point The truth is we have suffered the most incompetent government in my lifetime over the last few years. Patel and Braverman as Home Secretaries and Johnson as PM had no interest in governing and solving the county's problems  and instead sought gimmicks and tabloid headlines to climb the greasy pole and seek power. The result is pretty much all of our public services are a shambles.

You are quite right - the way we manage asylum is yet another public service that has gone wrong.  We allowed the estate of appropriate accommodation to begin to dissipate and failed to manage applications properly and promptly.  Its a complete management failure. As a result longstanding claimants didn't clear through the system and hence accommodation was overwhelmed. It is crazy that we are pitching around trying to find hotels and new flats to fix the problem. Why has this happened. Failure at the top level. Braverman focussed entirely on ridiculously expensive impractical  tabloid gimmicks like the Rwanda policy and failed to ensure that we had adequate resources and systems to process claims and failed to ensure we managed the accommodation we had at the same time, failed to work on systems facilitating as many failed asylum seeker removals as possible and failed to think through sensible asylum reforms - for example limited appeals to one and tightening up eligibility criteria to reflect those used in for example France and Germany.  Why? Because none of those actions are glamorous and would have attracted  positive tabloid headlines as Patel and Braverman jockeyed for the top job. It's absolutely what the their job and responsibility to the country was however.

Hopefully this shambolic government will be kicked out soon and some grown ups can begin to address the massive issues this shower have left behind. Its a daunting inbox for any government however to repair the mess.  It won't be quick and there will be some failures along the way, but it really is time for a change.

Noone has been against the deportation of illegal immigrants. The problem is those those who erroneously declare asylum seekers as illegal immigrants. Post after Post on this forum mostly unchallenged, such as when you point out that this is wrong is met by abuse that it's almost not worth saying. The ignorami may think that they either win or are right, but they are both wrong and stupid.

well that is patently untrue - we cant even deport violent criminals and even when we do there is a campaign to bring them back..
