Thermals are not anti gravity they're warm moist updrafts of air which condense when they reach the dew point.
Once a cloud reaches full saturation the air becomes unable to continue to hold the moisture suspended in it and it dissipates, either as rain, snow or hail.

Start with a method to make a machine to generate an anti gravity field including the energy requirements.
Then expand and provide a method to create a faster than light vessel, including the energy requirements and navigational methods necessary to travel from our solar system to a distant system, and return to our solar system as it will have moved.
And provide proof of a working model that we can reproduce.
