Ah, Labour area as suspected. Rather silly post considering the point in question is about the NHS.

Ah, Labour area as suspected. Don't think it makes a lot of difference. My Tory MP, Gordon Henderson is well aware of the local failures of the NHS in the locality. My experiences are much like SRB's as seeing a Doctor is virtually impossible without attending an A&E. Note his tagline: twitter.com/therealgordy?lang=en

My daughter wants to take a university course to allow her to prescribe ( some) drugs iirc . I believe it’s about a year long course . Not full time of course .

Ah, Labour area as suspected. Actually one of our two MPs is a Tory, and we had a Tory run council until May. So it is not actually a devout Labour area at all but more of a Labour/Tory marginal. And the problems with our GPs long predate Labour gaining control of the council in May, though I doubt they will make any significant difference and certainly havent yet. In terms of who runs Plymouth, both main parties are equally culpable. And a lot of the problems are national in nature and at that level it is almost exclusively the Tories' baby since 2010, though with a bit of help from the Limp Dums for the first five of those years.

We have loads of foreign doctors. Our surgery seems to only have Nigerian doctors. Why are we not putting our own students through medical school? Even though we have this foreign influx we still can't get to see a doctor. The system is broken. A couple of points If we open training to overseas students we can rip them off. There is a medical school in the midlands no british (or EU) passport holder can apply to. To secure a place you must have both the academic paperwork (fairly easily forged) and a bankers draft from your foreign government. We can import trained medics from outside the UK and pay them only 80% of the going rate. Some will come for that. We have been cutting back on training our own since 1982, probably earlier…

I wrote an email to every one of my regional AM's complaning that the BS about not being able to offer appointments more than 48 hours ahead is back with a vengeance
Until yesterday none of the scum responded.
But yesterday i had a profound apology from the plaid cymryu twat sayibng he's put his team onto it.
I knew it would be a good idea to send one set of emails from johnofgwent at protonmail and the other from ieuan ap barbara at protonmail. Guess which was responded to ?

I can always get to see a GP but seeing as they are generally about as good as me googling my symptoms myself I may as well have not bothered . Their sole purpose it seems is to refer you to the local hospital for anything but the obvious that you could have sorted with the local chemist
The Hospital then sends you a letter stating you will be seeing DR Missing or one of his team . Its always one of his team ,either a nurse or one of these box tickers they have drafted in . You just have to hope you dont get a follow up appointment to see Dr Missing because if you do you are already on the way to the ever after .
If you really want to see Dr Missing at the earliest then you should have gone private because thats where you will find him .

AT our surgery, they call them "dispensing clinicians", they are nurses that can prescribe certain medications. Seeing a real doctor is next to impossible where we live. My wife has spoken to a person who said he was a doctor, but he could have been anybody and may have been speaking to us from anywhere in the world. Local healthcare died for us because of the reaction to Covid. You are talking about Advanced Nurse Practioners, they are different from Physician Associates. PA's cannot prescribe, ANP's can. ANP's are often highly specialised, and realistically you are better off seeing them than a GP.
