It looks like another thread that is being derailed toward attacking the messenger. No doubt this is proper conduct on UK Politics Debate, especially when coming from the Left.

* I doubt that...
Trade Union Rich List 2021: TUC boss received remuneration of £167,000. With the TUC Congress in full swing, the TaxPayers' Alliance has revealed that the average remuneration of the top 30 public sector union bosses was £150,755 in 2020.
BTW it was the Express actually, but it's in many media sources, it's even in the lefty Mirror. Clearly that is peanuts compared to the likely salaries of those who he will be negotiating with which will typically be in the millions. So again the lowest paid person in the room. people who earn millions dont waste their time negotiating with Union reps - they have HR managers for that.

And this miserable Tory government, and the previous four Tory governments since 2010 want us all to be happy and joyfull. ?
Now that the average middle income, middle class person is now worse off than their French or German counterpart, with Brits getting poorer, whilst continental living standards overtake ours.
"British workers are missing out on £10,700 a year after more than a decade of weak economic growth and high inequality, according to a major report warning that UK living standards are falling behind comparable rich nations.
In a damning report on the economy, the Resolution Foundation and the London School of Economics’ Centre for Economic Performance called for an urgent rethink of economic strategy after 15 years of relative decline."
What individual unions do ( after consulting their members ) has nothing to do with The Labour Party, and if THE MEMBERS of a transport union vote to strike for either a fair deal, a fair pay deal, or to protect terms and conditions or protect services, its up to them.
The train unions have won one battle, backed by the general public, they saved the ticket offices

It is true that the unions go way to far, but they do serve a useful purpose. If you are familiar with the USA you will be aware what its like to be poor there, the left and unions protect us from that. In the usa you can work all your life and get nowhere most do, get nowhere, and just work to make the rich richer. You pay for health care, when i was over there i asked a bloke how much of his income is spent on health insurance, he said a quarter. The hospitals discharge the elderly with no where to go onto the streets, the health care owners bathe in money and they dont care.
People think the USA is valhalla, unless you have money, its a pit. For all its faults, the left protect the poor.
