Let's wait and see if the more left-wing Zuckerberg comes in for the kind of abuse Musk did when he laid staff off. Probably not because the left are hypocrites.
Facebook planning 'large scale layoffs' of thousands of workers following hiring freeze and 70 per cent fall in share price this year Facebook is planning to begin large-scale layoffs this week that will affect thousands of employees with an announcement planned as early as Wednesday Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is planning to lay off up to 12,000 underperforming Facebook workers Shares of the Facebook and Instagram owner slumped to a new last week Meta Platform Inc.'s shares are down roughly 73 percent over the past year Investors have been spooked in recent months by a string of challenges to Meta The company says the recent slump has been down to external factors Meta recently posted its second quarterly revenue decline in history But investors also appear concerned of Meta's massive spend on the Metaverse

Nice to have some good news. Thanks. You are very welcome. The lefties seem to be keeping a low profile over it, I wonder why?

Dread that the heavenly seams are coming undone. You can see why it is so silent on the lefties front this is the same Zuckerberg who poured $400 million into bidens warchest for his presidentiall quest.

I didn't know that. Shouldn't be allowed. The whole thing stinks. This is why arsbook has lost a lot of support.

Well right now these layoffs are only rumoured but have to say likely. I don't do Facebook, I find those Facebook pages that small businesses use very awkward, the way it allows targeted messaging of fake news is reprehensible and I'm still appalled by the horrors that Facebook recklessly enabled and did nothing to prevent in Myanmar. But that said it works for many people and it would probably be a bad thing if it collapsed altogether.

I think very many people just use it to keep in touch with their families, it would be a shame if they are the ones who are going to suffer.

I think it's important that people realise that no one gives anyone else a free lunch and if they do then there is something iffy in the deed.

I think it's important that people realise that no one gives anyone else a free lunch and if they do then there is something iffy in the deed. The problem is that most things start off with good intentions but soon become radicalised and are seen as a form of generating money and setting their own agenda by some. Many of the social media platforms could quite easily be financed by the revenue generated by advertisements etc. Like BLM for example that started with good intentions and look at it now.

12,000 FaceBook workers? What on Earth do they all do? They're probably all playing games in VR. I can safetly say that I am happy over the prospect of the Metaverse idea dying. Call me an old conspiracy theorist, but something like Meta with full authoritarian control over some futuristic society sounds terrifying. Zuckerberg's skinner boxes with cameras and data collection kinda creeps me out. I say that as a developer who owns VR equipment.

Edward Snowdon claimed that no matter what happens "Zuckerberg will eventually own your eyeballs."

I'm on facebook, it helped me track down old friends who I hadn't seen in years.
Don't get me wrong, facebook is a bit shit, but it has its good sides.
