In short and without reference to the particulars of the issue that prompted this post, it became as plain and obvious to me all the way back in 1999 that they live in a world alien to everyone save themselves.
In a post on a completely different subject i made it plain that my paternal grandfather had an IQ perilously close to barking mad. Another gentleman i worked with early in my career had a similarly stratospheric IQ independently assessed and you wouldn’t want to leave him in charge of your kids because he was utterly lacking in certain areas of common sense. Similarly the people NOW working at the present day ‘radio factory’ Turing worked at are high functioning nutters. I know, because they shared a farmhouse B&B with me for a month.
I am convinced every single member of the High Court and Supreme Court share the same mental aberration. If you doubt me, research the transcript of the Welfare Reform Act hearings under Mr Justice Burton. The man is a prime example of the Layer Cake.

Sorry I disagree … the Lords’ decision to spike the deliberately flawed, deliberately stupid Rwanda plan was the right decision. …. you don’t dump immigrant tribes into a totally alien foreign culture … and create a ‘ghetto’ in that land … it will cause utter resentment with the ‘locals’ … In this case warring Rwandan tribes with a horrific history for ‘ethnic cleansing’. I agree. But the point is that the Rwanda plan was never intended to "funnel" vast numbers of "undesirables" into Rwanda. Rwanda don't even have room for these people - I think they've only got accommodation for about 500. The idea was based on the Australian scheme where illegal boat people were sent to Papua New Guinea. The number of people sent to Papua was very low because, when they realised that they were not going to be let into Australia the boats stopped. I think it stopped after a couple of weeks.

I don't think that lawyers/judges etc are people with high IQs. They don't need the gift of original thought. They just need the ability to absorb huge amounts of case law and apply it to their current case. They need very good memories basically. That's why I think their job is actually tailor-made for an AI bot. There's no common sense whatsoever, which is what you allude to I think. The annoying thing is that, if this is all they're going to do, why does it take so VERY long to make a decision. This could be done by AI in literally seconds. The only "added value" that a human can provide is common sense, but they DON'T have any.

Yes, I agree with you much of what they do could easily be done by an AI bot programmed to strictly follow ethical Legal procedure according to UK Laws …. but where their ‘creative thinking’ comes in - and this applies to Solicitors too - is when they go ‘off piste’ and invent new ways of screwing extra money out of not only their Adversaries … but their own clients too. …. and even more so … the British Tax-Payer. … when you are OVERPAID BY THE MINUTE …. every second counts. (Kerchinnng ££) …. towards putting an extension on their third property in Tuscany.
