I used to donate to the Salvation Army, but I discovered they either sold or passed on my address to anyone who wanted it, I was livid and discovered this is why we used to be inundated with junk mail and begging letters from various charities who pay their chief executives six figure salaries while volunteers on high streets stand in the pouring rain trying to get people to sign up to direct debits. As for The Big Issue, when we went to town I used to buy a copy from any vendor because I saw it as the right thing to do. But I got slowly disillusioned because over a few years the vendors (in Stafford anyway) changed from English men, to almost exclusively East European women. I got fed up with having a copy of The Big Issue shoved in my face and a passive-aggressive East European woman almost demanding I buy it. So, in short no, I no longer donate to charities and I no longer support The Big Issue. We do charitable things but I no longer give anyone my personal details. A while back I read a upsetting case, a OAP had been duped in to setting up a Direct Debit to some charity, anyway to cut a long story short the pensioner died 'penniless' his son couldn't believe it when he checked his bank account, it had been 'cleared out' by the charity taking a chunk out of it each month. I know, it's sad. The way charities operate these days leaves a lot to be desired. And some charities like Care4Calais should be banned. |

Suella Braverman has now said that rough sleepers in Britain living in tents is a lifestyle choice. Quite clearly for many people in this country today, it is a choice. Anyone who enters this country illegally from the 'safe' EU state of France after paying a criminal to cross the channel and disposing of any ID, is a burden to this country. They made the choice to come to Europe and they made the choice to leave the 'safe' EU. We have problems enough without importing them from the EU. Suella Braverman is right. The caring lefties are very particular about who they care for . |

It was her department which recently changzd thz rules on exprisoners time limits to find accommodation after release.
It used to be a month.ie they could stay in the corrzctional facility for up to a monrh before they had to leave.
She changed it to a week.
She thinks exprisoners can find somewhere to rent in a week.
The woman is not only cruel. She is mad.

I can beat that, an ex-soldier I know has had a martial breakdown found himself in temporary accommodation eaten by bedbugs and living with alcoholics and drugs as well as a few on the game, So I gave him my mobile home to use as well as between a couple of us had it sited locally and paid the fees and cancelled my holiday in it. |
