When did anyone suggest otherwise, apart from in your foetid imagination, Wonky? Quite simply by supporting Israel's right to defend itself by slaughtering thousands of innocent Palestinians. Again, what Hamas did was a war crime and Israel does have the right to a secure border but 'blanketing' a civilian population with rockets and air attacks is not and never will be the way do do it. Palestinian lives are worth the same as Israeli lives but, with the support of us, they are committing mass murder. Your tune would be very different if the UK had used missiles and planes in NI to 'wipe out' the IRA. So you were against the strategic bombing campaign of the Allies in WW2?

You think that Israel has no right to defend itself? I did not say that as well you know.

Here we go again comparing two impossibly different situations. Poland did not displace hundreds of thousands of German people to settle the land that they occupy, Poland did not control the water, food and power to Germany, Poland did not erect a blockade of Germany and control what went in and what came out. The Nazis laid waste to the majority of Europe and murdered thousands of people in the process, so to answer your question, yes I do agree with the bombing of German cities which shortened the length of the war. Hamas killed 1400 Israeli's in an horrific act of terrorism and have quite rightly been condemned for it. The Israeli's did displace hundreds of thousands of people to settle the land, they are now bombing innocent civilians in a futile attempt to destroy Hamas, they know it will not work but they care naught for the lives of Palestinians, we in the west are complicit in their war crimes. There is only one way to deal with Hamas and that is to talk to them and make them irrelevant. Would you have supported the UK government using missiles and air strike in NI as a way to root out the IRA? I have answered you question, please have the decency to answer mine.

Is it really your contention that killing thousands of innocent civilians an act of self defence. Israel, I repeat, has the right to defend itself but it does not have the right to kill thousands of people in that defence.

Come now, Wonky - it's either self-defence or it's slaughter, it cannot by definition be both. And the Israelis have given ample warning to the civilian population to allow them to evacuate.
It's reasonable self-defence.

Even more sadly, I have never said that 'nobody' is blaming Jews but rather that 'most' people, like myself, are rightly blaming Israel... Oh yes, and while we're on the subject Wonky, most people outside of the extreme left are certainly not blaming Israel.

Here we go again comparing two impossibly different situations... Yes we are. Your endless attempts to draw false equivalences are becoming tiresome.

If you have a break in by some young thug, that you know and go round to his house and kill his parents to get to him, you have murdered his parents.

No - you said, and I quote: 'blanketing' a civilian population with rockets and air attacks is not and never will be the way do do it.But that is precisely what we did in WW2 - when you are at war bombing the enemy is a normal facet of war and that involves Civilian casualties. Saying its all right to kill civilians when we do it but wrong when Israel does it sounds very much like double standards.

I explained my position quite clearly but of course that is not what you want to hear. You still will not answer a simple question, how can this be a serious debating board if people do not respond respectfully. Hamas is nothing like the German army that started the 2nd world war, they did not start the violence in the area they are a consequence of it. Blanketing a civilian population with missiles and air strikes is not the way to deal with a terrorist organisation in fact it is propably the worst way, it is allowing other countries to 'sympathise' with the plight of the Palestinians.
