True or not, right wingers are so sick they will, and always have been, ready to distort events into anti-Labour propaganda. It is almost certainly why the Tories have dominated Parliament since 1951 and why the country has struggled since then. Incidentally, When Labour came to office in 1964, after 13 years of Conservative government, they inherited the largest trading deficit ever recorded up to that date.

Reminds me of the Tory conference where a Tory politician was hauled out by a big, burly copper for suggesting in a very low voice that the was no such thing as gender identity.
Was this really a good use of police time, the man had committed no offence.
