This isn't good. As soon as Murdoch announces his retirement, the civil war between the various populist lie tellers in the media seems to have broken out. Here is the Express calling out GB news over the misogyny of its guests and the smirking Dan Wooton who was happy to laugh along at such harmless frivolity. www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1817154/Laurence-Fox-GB-News-probeDon't these people realise that if we are to keep on conning the masses in their populist silos, we need absolute unity in our lies to them. Truth is our enemy , not each other FFS.

Laurence Fox's remarks may have been 'vile and misogynistic' as per Owen Jones's Rentaquote but were they untrue?

As our Antipodean cousins would say, she's got a roo loose in the top paddock. This would seem to support that proposition:
Bet you can't watch more than about 60s.

Not Dan Wootton yet though, despite his own history of alleged sex abuses and now clearly finding Fox's comments hilarious.
Surely they could find someone better?

Unclear why GB News should choose their presenters on the basis of their appeal to those who aren't part of their target audience.

Entirely up to them who they use of course Dan. Just feels surprising to an outsider and says rather a lot about who they are.
When I have tried to watch GB News (always keep an eye on the enemy....) I have to say I find Wootton a pretty poor broadcaster for my taste. While no fan of Farage's politics, he seems streets ahead as a broadcaster to me. Surprising to me they give this guy so much prime time (well Prime Time by GB News standards...) exposure

I do agree that many of their on-screen personalities are not top-drawer but I don't think that's through conscious choice.

I am sure they could find someone better than Wootton. Really any competent presenter should have shut down Fox's comments and apologised immediately instead of seemingly encouraging him and agreeing with him. Surprised they still employ him to be honest.

I think he (Wootton) is popular with the audience so the opinions of third-parties, especially those with an axe to grind, may not carry much weight with the management.
Having said that I hardly ever tune in to his programme, finding him rather light-weight. Fox is much more entertaining and hard-hitting in my view.

Cant say I have watched the station much but Wootton does seem to be on a lot. I have to say I find him nauseatingly patronising. Haven't seen Fox so cant comment on his presenting style. Farage to be fair on the couple of occasions I have seen him presented very well.

GB News chief executive Angelos Frangopoulos has set out a plan to turn the start-up broadcaster into Britain’s biggest news channel while trimming “wasteful costs and inefficiencies”. In a note to staff on Monday morning, seen by Press Gazette, Frangopoulos said the channel was now entering its “third phase”. The future of GB News will include “pivoting sharply towards financial sustainability and profit,” he said. The first phase was launch, in June 2021, and the second consisted of “investment in people, talent, and programming while we relentlessly built a loyal audience,” he said. pressgazette.co.uk/publishers/broadcast/future-of-gb-news-dominance-and-cuts/In June 2023, GB News had a total identified monthly audience (including sharing and streaming) of 3,437,000, with a 1 minute average daily viewing according to BARB…
