I bow to your greater knowledge. After all you weren’t you among the occupying forces in Northern Ireland…? This may come as something as a shock Pat, but Northern Ireland is a part of the UK! And still is Due to the fact the Police were pursuing the Scooter a full investigation was automatically started. “The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards (DPS) launched an investigation alongside colleagues from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command. “The Independent Office for Police Conduct have been informed and we are advised that they have launched an independent investigation.”

I suppose the machete was for their gardening job. On his way to college and needed to sharpen his pencil On his way to his job as a brain surgeon

A motorcyclist has been killed after a collision during a police chase in central London. The man died after a crash with both a taxi and street furniture whilst the motorcycle he was riding was being pursued by police. The passenger seated behind him sustained non-life-threatening injuries to his leg and arm, and was arrested after he was found to be carrying a machete. Officers pursued the pair in the early hours of Monday morning, at approximately 6.45am, after witnessing the vehicle jump a red light on Oxford Street. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/tottenham-court-road-arrest-police-crash-b2418077.htmlI await the protests of innocence from community leaders who will insist they were good boys who were innocently going shopping... ...armed to the teeth at 90mph with the police chasing them. Pretty routine for London. I’ve only sympathy for the loss of life, and I don’t blame the Police — after all, when motorcyclists are in all their helmets and leathers, how can plod tell what ethnicity the riders are… Ive no sympathy at all . Any machete carrying gangsta that gets deleted on the streets of London is alright by me ,just a shame the other one didn't go the same way as his mate ,they should be shot on site ,not endangering the public with a chase through the streets

Very sad loss of life.
Standard procedure is for IOPC to investigate when police are involved in an incident that leads to death or serious injury.
Most likely outcome is that the police actions were proportionate but that is for the enquiry to determine.
Let’s wait for the outcome.

Ahem, I am a motorcyclist and what you are describing would appear to be a "promising young footballer" who happened to be on a motorcycle at the time of his demise.
Big difference.
But, let's just wait for the police to get the blame from the usuals. so am i and if that was a motorcycle i am a drag artiste

Do get real Dippy: Machete wielding moped robbers are not, by any objective measure, a sad loss of life.

I agree it appears that Dappy does not know that central London is the hunting ground for knife carrying robbers who threaten their victims with a bladed weapon, hammer or iron bar to hand over their expensive watch, wallet designer handbag and make their escape on Scooter down side streets. I would not be surprised if the Scooter they were on was stolen and false plates fitted, or not registered to the rider a pool Scooter used by more than one gang member, or perhaps they had just stolen it that morning, we may find out later when the investigation is over and the pillion passenger with the Machete ends up in Court

Indeed. Some people understand the nature of crime in London but Dappy isn't one of us.
