You ALL voted for it, every one on these boards voted for it unless you have never voted Conservative, Labour, Lib Dem, SNP, Plaid Cymru or Green. Oh and BTW it was your beloved labour under Blair that opened the floodgates The very first inward migration of significent numbers of Caribbean migrants ( black people ) began in the late 1940s before Tony Blair was born. Migration from the Caribbean continued for many years under BOTH Conservative and Labour governments THE MAJORITY of black immigrants who arrived on Britains shores from the Caribbean were British people, they were born British, they sang "God Save The Queen" and many of them fought for this country. You might care that whatever percentage of British people are a different colour, but most people, incliding me, couldn't give a shit. |

In 1951 the UK population was 99.9% white
In 1961 the UK population was 99.2% white
In 1971 the UK population was 97.5% white
In 1981 the UK population was 96.1% white
In 1991 the UK population was 94.5% white
In 1997 Tony Blair became Prime Minister and the percentage of white people continued to decline
In 2010 the Conservatives took office and from then until now, the trend has continued, with the percentage of white British as a proportion of the population falling further.
How terrible that we have had to listen to Calypso, Bob Marley and Reggae, watch Sir Trevor McDonald reading our news or black athletes winning gold medals for Great Britain, or watch gospal singers on Songs Of Praise.

People don't vote for people's "colour", so the opening post is merely a bait. How would one explain how people of colour are often elected in areas with high percentages of ethnics ? And lets be honest Sunak was never going to be elected by the party members We very much vote for people that are the same as ourselves whoever we are . |

White British 44.4 million White Other 3.7 million Non-white 11.5 million
White other includes EU nationals (incl Irish) as well as immigrants from the USA and the 'Old Commonwealth.
By December 2022 net migration has changed the population breakdown as follows:
White Other -93,000 Non-White +1,160,000
We have no data from the ONS on the size of the White British population in December 2022, but since it declined by an average of 79,000 each year between the 2011 and 2021 censuses it's reasonable to conclude it underwent a similar contraction in 2021 and 2022.
