Monte, ..but there is no 'Ukraine section' ? I have decided not to think too hard about Ukraine moderation. My personal views about what constitutes a discussion don't seem to be relevant to the Board's policy in that case. Relevant to the question of ''balancing figures'' though, is it not? Yes. It is exactly the issue.

Why so many scientists from all corners support the consensus that AGW exists and is a grievous danger. What is the level of that support and where is that information that 'so many' are in line with the consensus? Another good, but sadly ignored, question.

I dont know. I dont have all the facts yet. I have, however, discounted some theories. One being that the crowd was not armed. Looking at photos, they were indeed armed with flagpoles and sticks. My suspicion is that, knowing US attitudes to guns, some wete also carrying arms. But i discount that in coming to any definitive conclusion. But there are some complex issues I dont have an opinion on. Yet. And stun guns, and several types of actual guns. The information is available online and easy to find. In April, 72-year-old Lonnie Coffman of Falkville, Alabama, was sentenced to four years in prison for bringing loaded guns, ammunition and Molotov cocktail ingredients to Washington on Jan. 6. The weapons were found in his truck—parked less than half a mile from the Capitol building—which he left to attend a rally at the National Mall. A statement by the Department of Justice said Coffman " also carried a loaded handgun and a loaded revolver as he walked around the area that day." In March 2022, 49-year-old Texan Guy Reffitt, was convicted (among other charges) for being unlawfully present on Capitol grounds while possessing a firearm and transporting firearms during civil disorder.
A Department of Justice indictment from January 2021 also states that Christopher Alberts, Maryland, was found carrying a Taurus G2C semi-automatic handgun on Capitol grounds on January 6.
Off-duty Drug Enforcement Administration agent Mark Sami Ibrahim, 32, was also indicted by a grand jury for bringing a firearm within the United States Capitol and its grounds.
In an article for Newsweek, Nick Suplina and Justin Wagner of Everytown for Gun Safety said they had identified " 12 individuals allegedly tied to the events of Jan. 6 who were arrested in Washington, D.C., and charged with firearms offenses."Stewart Rhodes, sentenced to 18 years. Rhodes and his followers converged on the Capitol after assembling an arsenal of weapons and setting up “quick reaction force” teams at a Virginia hotel that could deploy guns into the nation’s capital if needed to support their plot, according to court documents. Guy Wesley Reffitt, sentenced to 87 months in prison, was armed with a handgun and zip ties as he attempted to storm the Capitol, while his car was allegedly loaded with rifles and ammo.Richard Barnett, sentenced to 54 months in prison, was armed with a deadly weapon (a stun gun). Daniel D.J. Rodriguez, sentenced to 12 years in prison for driving a stun gun into a police officer's neck, among other things.time.com/6133336/jan-6-capitol-riot-arrests-sentences/www.politico.com/news/2023/09/05/enrique-tarrio-prison-sentencing-proud-boys-00114104It is worth noting that not all cases have been tried yet.
