We have an FTA with the EU. The EU provides lemons melons and oranges tariff free. Our tariffs on such fruits protect the EU, not our own farmers.
There are growers in the Commonwealth who could supply as good, but cheaper if it weren't for the tariffs.
Another thing, we have a free trade agreement with Zimbabwe despite human rights abuses. We didn't get a vote on that. Any free trade agreement should be conditional on reform.
Mugabe may be gone, but Zanu PF are still in charge.

That's the problem with any FTA, they have swings and roundabouts clauses. You have to consider the impact of it as a whole and without that UK-EU FTA we'd be in deep trouble.

No they did not. Go on see if you can post an EC link saying so What did your last servant die of? Look it up yourself you have been shot down so many times over this bollocks and still you persist in spouting the same old lies. Get over it your side had millions more than the leave campaign and you are just a sore loser. Or in short you were lying and you know you were.

Without the tariffs on melons lemons and oranges, fruit would be cheaper.
We have a 14% tariff on tomatoes. Do we need a 14% tariff on tomatoes?

Absolute cobblers, forget all the talk of lies they all lied it’s what politicians do as a matter of course Much was made of slogans on the side of a bus,it didn’t figure I guess many like myself looked around and didn’t like the way the project was progressing,I voted in the first referendum with some reservations but that the common market wasn’t a bad idea. As time went by and the ever increasing and unfathomable treaties were signed one by one with little or no reference to the people, the promise of a referendum came and went and we were lied to again and again. There were few who were prepared to stand and voice their concerns in parliament they were Majors bastards. Not all was bad with the eu,but post brexit remainers tried to convince with arguments that the right to roam mobile phone charges would be lost, yes it was a good initiative but not enough to sell our souls to Brussels. So even now and looking at this thread there are those who still base their counter on an irrelevant bus, that the vote only succeeded because of the stupid and gullible. Surely some who voted leave are stupid and gullible and surely the same applied to remain,if asked I suspect most who voted leave accepted that the eu would be awkward about this and they are prepared for the consequences of that. Brexit needs time to prove itself,if you voted remain you may not like that but it is a fact because if you pretend any respect of what was probably the biggest democratic exercise in this country ever a fair and free vote was held, the majority won, many but not enough to either bother to vote or in sufficient numbers lost. Its legitimate to dispute brexit but should be tempered with acknowledgment that it was a loss. And just how long are you going to wait for jam tomorrow while the country gets further into its various messes that no Brexit promise can fix. Remember the sunlit uplands, that sovereignty would solve every problem, that warnings that problems are usually caused externally was called project fear. They were warnings from those who understood that any country that trades with another one has to compromise.
I never mentioned jam tomorrow or anything resembling that,it's used by the equally stupid and gullible remain supporters (mentioned above) as a pathetic counter argument.
Made clear? you're talking nonsense again and again performing as one of the equally stupid and gullible who believe that the millions who voted leave are somehow suddenly rendered to the state of idiocy by how they cast their vote and in a way which you neither liked nor agreed with and actually says more about your take on democracy and grip on reality. No those who never accepted the vote want bits of the eu back I don't want anything from the eu as an entity.
There are many adults in the room including some who voted and wished to remain, you are not one of them as shown by the above ramble of meaningless slogans like this
Broad sunlit uplands were used by Churchill in his famous Dunkirk speech,it was siezed on as phrase to try to portray leave voters as old, stupid and gullible living in the past by the equally pathetic stupid and gullible remain camp as mentioned above,in fact it was only used post brexit vote by Andre Leadsom in her leadership bid when Cameron ran away.

And what about all the money the remnants spent after the referendum to try and overturn brexit? And one of em that spent a fortune on taking the UK government to court was not even a British national. EDIT.....Does the name Gina Miller ring any bells.

And by trying to stop Brexit, she and other wealthy remoaners stopped debate over how we should leave by hijacking it with a whether we should leave debate. Well, we're out anyway. No thanks to Gina. But at least she's a fair bit poorer.

@wap "Just give it a few more years,", as per your previous post, is promising jam tomorrow. And it was Boris who used the phrase "sunlit uplands" when he thought he was Churchill reborn.
It is a concept that is and always impossible since no one knows what is in the future. The whole Leave promises were based on correcting what was then currently seen by some as problems. But never a thought about how the promised solutions might serve the UK in the future.
In truth, NO BREXIT PROMISE has alleviated the big problems the UK faces...immigration, cost of living, the NHS and public sector wages. In fact it has put many businesses out of business, complicated trade, locked up Treasury support for those public sector workers, allowed hundreds of millions of pounds to be spent on migrants you promised to control.
An utter failire on every level.
Never mind wait and it will be better. You have no idea what is in the future. To overturn a practising set of trading and international trading routines on the promise of an unknown future was stupid in the extreme. You jumped but the wings promis3d to you didnt exist.
FFS just look at Boris and it tells you all you need to know. He isnt funny. He is dangerous.

Her case was about the illegality of shutting down Parliament. You should have been aghast at that denial of democracy too. But you were in the habit of sucking up any crap politicians threw at you. Fascist dictators depend on people like you.
