Probe into former Labour chief whip Nick Brown still going on after a year
ormer Labour chief whip remains under investigation a year after he was suspended from the party after an undisclosed complaint was made against him.
It was announced on September 7 last year that Nick Brown, the MP for Newcastle upon Tyne East, had been suspended from the party and the whip removed. A spokesman for Labour leader Sir Keir Smarmer said the independent investigation into Mr Brown, who previously served as government chief whip during the premierships of Sir Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, was still going on. We have a thorough, robust, independent process and they should be allowed to get on with their work Labour leader Sir Keir Smarmer's spokesman The spokesman, asked by reporters on Wednesday why the probe had taken 12 months, said: “We do not comment on disciplinary processes specifically. “I would just make the general comment that there can always be a number of reasons why these cases take a long time.

Another in the long list of moronic thread titles I see.
Meanwhile the time taken suggests the police may well be investigating whatever the issue is. All a bit unsatisfactory for all sides.

The police "may well be investigating"?What evidence have you that the police are involved? It's an internal Labour party investigation, which may or may not be a criminal offence.

Merely a suspicion given timescales. Time will tell

Exactly or it could just be an internal matter within the Labour Party, had he been arrested suspected of a Criminal Offence, the media would have known about within hours of days

They have done well to keep the details of the allegations secret for this long - a year with no leaks is almost unheard of in politics.

If he had been a Conservative he would have been promoted.😂

I don't know how Labour can keep covering up their corruption, it only goes to prove they've got the civil service and public sector in their pockets, we know if Labour win the GE it's through dirty tricks, because we know it wont be on their policies, stunning good looks and charm.

I would bet my bottom dollar it is sexual harassment allegations, but the problem is the person making the allegations is one of the women currently being ostracized by Labour for not following their Pro-Trans madness.
ie it's a shit storm, so kick the can down the road till after the GE, or bury it when the Tories implode again.
