I’m still waiting for the farmers ploughing food back into the ground because of a shortage of migrants to harvest them . I’m waiting for shortages due to a lack HGV drivers too. Both leaver project doom BS.

The bitter ex leavers have been telling us that we never knew the terms that we left the EU. So they must agree that if we are to have a meaningful referendum to rejoin the EU then the voters must know the exact terms of re joining the EU and it must be confirmed and guaranteed by the EU .

No need to reply. Almost all of it is untrue. Including that you are "fine". who is not doing fine?

Nope , the truth is that there is no crisis in agriculture due to a lack of migrants . No wild flowers around here . Plenty of farmland filled to the gills with every kind of crop and harvested . Might be some beaver in Kings Lynn though. So you admit the HGV crisis due to lack of migrants didn’t happen?

Can someone clarify whether we have a shortage of HGV drivers or not as then I will know what to get worked up about.

You don't www.nfuonline.com/updates-and-information/nfu-horticulture-mid-season-labour-survey-results/ 'The survey results show that £22 million worth of fruit and vegetables has been wasted directly because of workforce shortages in the first half of 2022 alone. As the survey represents around a third of the UK horticulture sector, the NFU estimates the overall value of food wasted accumulates to more than £60 million.'
And it didn't get better this year either www.nfuonline.com/media-centre/releases/independent-labour-shortages-pr Our own recent survey looking at worker shortages across the agriculture industry shows that 41% of respondents reduced the amount of food they produced due to being unable to recruit the essential workforce needed.

The second link is more interesting. Farmers have adjusted their output to suit the workforce available and Quote “Our survey results also show that over 77% of respondents said difficulty in recruiting workers was down to a lack of applicants, so the panel’s focus on the need to boost recruitment, training and upskilling of domestic staff is positive to see and TIAH (The Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture) has a key role to play.”So the NFU is reacting to the situation in a positive way . As I said, there is no crisis due to a lack of migrants in agriculture. Just another ex remainer gas lighting us. Now do me a favour Steve and help confirm my point that there is no lorry driver crisis . I suspect Stephen will be making a semantic argument about the definition of crisis very soon .

Lefties have been whining about low pay for years ( or was it just a dream?) but when employers are forced to rethink wages , innovate and train they whine about that . I wonder if it’s because they support migrants more than they support the working class .

But not a crisis . Having access to unlimited cheap labour would be a problem but it’s not a crisis
