I wouldn't go though far. I agree freedom of choice is a good thing. Like the freedom of choice to leave the EU. Or re-join You can have that choice in 40 years.

You can have that choice in 40 years. Not this old one again. You lost the right to vote for 40 years So now you want to repeat the mistake.

In the meantime, Britain was able to deepen its trading ties with nations around the world, because the EU acted like a bunny boiler in its split with Britain. www.aseanbriefing.com/news/singapore-uk-bilateral-investment-treaty-status-of-negotiations/With the narrative that the UK is the worst G7 economy for growth now obsolete (a weapon Europhiles loved), it's really hard to see how Europhiles can ever persuade Briton's to rejoin an outdated, low growth, sclerotic bloc. Quite frankly, there isn't much appeal. Keep them at arms length. 'Cherry pick' intiatives like Horizon where we can cooperate without losing complete autonomy without sacrificing this to the detriment with trade for the RoW. And Europhiles in the meantime will have to persuade why we should adopt, the Euro, Schengen and FoM. Now that we're out, rejoining is a monumental task for Europhiles - a bridge too far for them now I think.

That needs to be reciprocated. For democracy to work losers need to give consent. 5 minutes after being out you don't get to call the shots again, like you did for the previous 40 years.

The collapse in the leave vote is irrelevant as we have left - why bother about something that you want that has already happened?. If you want to rejoin the EU you need to start putting in the hard work to convince people of the benefits - rattling on about WW2 is not going to do it. Oh what a convenient form of democracy where what people want only matters when it matches what you want. I don't need to do anything, the people already know what a crap decision leaving was. That's why those still supporting the idea has shrunk to just 34% We have left - it doesnt matter how many people support leaving because we have left. However, if you want to rejoin it's up to you to convince people that would be a good idea - simply parroting that our minority support is bigger than your minority support is not going to to do it. You need to explain why the benefits would outweigh the costs and then you might get a majority in favour of rejoin.

Why can't you respect that?

Anyway your argument is that it was grossly unfair to keep the UK in the EU for so long against the will of the people. Now you are saying it is fair to keep us out of the EU for 40 years against the will of the people. Shame on you.

Come back when you have some real meat on the bones.. 62%. Consistent polls for 6 years saying the same thing. 80 plus polls saying the same thing. Put your money where your mouth is, call for a referendum.

Come back when you have some real meat on the bones.. Unlike those people who, from scratch, put up a fight and basically won, these lot expect everything to be handed on a plate. They don't do hard work and clearly lack the brains for it, as seen by their BS.

Would you settle for the version of democracy?
