Julia Hartley-Brewer savages kunt Khan over ULEZ - ‘You're a coward and a liar' The TalkTV host led outcry against the Mayor of London today from her usual slot on the channel as the zone extends into the capital's outer boroughs. Widespread opposition has built against Mr Khan in recent months, with several boroughs having launched last-ditch legal challenges to scupper the expansion. With these challenges dismissed, opposing parties have taken to protests, and even vandalism, in desperate bids to have the policy - which demands people with non-compliant cars pay a £12.50 surcharge to enter the zone - rolled back. Ms Hartley-Brewer called for answers from the mayor, whose own home in Tooting became part of the ULEZ today, on behalf of "millions" of people affected by the "absolutely outrageous" policy. Speaking on TalkTV's Breakfast Show this morning, the host slammed ULEZ, which she dubbed a charge "just to get off your own driveway". She claimed that 700,000 cars that don't meet the stringent new green standards required by the ULEZ, leaving millions paying the surcharge. And she criticised the Mayor's defence of his policy, with Mr Khan having said he wanted to protect Londoners' health and save lives. The presenter said: "If it was about saving lives and pollution, why charge a fine? Why not just say those cars are banned?" link

And just to add insult to injury Sadiq Khan won't have to pay the ULEZ charge: London mayor's taxpayer-funded luxury 2020 Range Rover is exempt from the £12.50-a-day fee!Never fails, the double standard hypocrisy of the lefties.

Not exactly a environmentally friendly vehicle, whats wrong with a smart car, he's just a dirty lying toerag, another lefty telling people how to live and what they can do, while exempting themselves.

My vehicles are exempt (for now, although road pricing will apply to all in due course) but since when did I agree to be tracked everywhere that I go?
And of course, I didn't.
We are sleepwalking into 1984.

I watched Channel Four News tonight with all sides having a say on ULEZ
What seems very clear to me is that Congestion Charges and Congestion Zones in London was initially a Conservative idea ( Boris Johnson ).
The Conservatives are now Opportunists, they see a glimmer of hope by pushing back on what is a progressive policy, but I believe it will backfire on them.
On Channel Four News tonight was a Lung & Respitory Desease specialist, who argued that data and evidence proves that this is the right way ahead, and the doctor stated how many people die each year because of particle and nitrous polution.
The extention of ULEZ WILL NOT AFFECT 90% of motorists
A petrol car would need to be almost 20 years old to pay the charges
ULEZ will affect very few people, but it will encourage them to change vehicle ( perhaps by using the scrappage scheme ), or start using public transport.
The introduction of the ULEZ extention comes at the same time as massive improvements to public transport, with more services, more frequent and more faster services.
In a few months from now, everyone will be used to ULEZ, and the relatively small protests will be forgotten, and in a year from now the data will show that the air in London is cleaner, better and safer.

I would question left wing Channel 4 impartiality but you are of course correct, it's hardly a secret that the congestion zone was Boris's idea. But lets not confuse the congestion zone which many cities round the world have, with Khan's huge ultra low emissions zone, which is the biggest in the world. And lets not forget that Khan paid the LSE £800,000 for a favourable Ulez report, was that mentioned by Channel 4? Anyone with an IQ in double figures can see Ulez is about revenue not clean air and the GLA desperately needs the £300, million a year it will bring in.

Go on please post a link to show us it is true if it is. Khan paid for two reports, he chose the more favourable, after paying for certain information to be deleted. This is not a secret however I will endeavour to find the links you always demand. PS, I assume you have access to google?
