GULP. No more "nativist narratives" about citizens feeling swamped in their own country by tidal immigration. Bang, we'll stamp this kind of "misinformation" out. Criticism and even dissent of Gender woke, sexual narratives and no doubt minor attraction sexuality will also be censored/cancelled. The West is sleepwalking into an abyss of regressive-ness and being told how to think and communicate by the Thought Police (EU). It's all a bit dystopian. It's all a bit Orwellian. They are so confident they can decide what is deemed suitable for them, they will find lots of cheering and clapping for the great EU. Of course it will be sold as one thing but you can bet it will be used for much more sinister means.

The Eurocrats might be feeling pretty pleased with themselves, but just wait until we fully unveil our Online Harms Act ..... we can top that I'm sure ..... and additionally if we can get a Labour Government into power, as far as the big government and State inference and control stakes are concerned, we'll choke the internet of its last breaths of freedom quicker that the Eurocrats can say 'Jacques Delors'. And I bet they couldn't have kept Assange locked up in prison as long as we have, just in case Sleepy Joe has plans for him. Anything they can do, we can do better ! I was just reading Nadine's resignation letter telling us how much she had done to help it along.

Red Rackham Haha, thanks RR, ..... I think it was the first slightly sympathetic post toward the EU I'd ever made in my life, pointing out that on this issue they were no worse than we intend to be, and before throwing stones we should be conscious of out own glass house. It hadn't crossed my mind that would be adjudged as off topic, but I've learned my lesson and realise I'll be safer just sticking to my usual all out attack on the EU and all its institutions in future.

Sheepy
No comparisons allowed I'm afraid Sheepy, confine your thoughts and comments solely to the EU's legislation. I don't want to have my other wrist slapped as well for encouraging you.

The government will always claim to protect free speech, but I sense there will soon be a caveat in the small print that says - as long as we agree. The trick often employed with this sort of thing is to restrict free speech while saying that you are not restricting free speech So you start the legislation like this. "This legislation does not affect an individual's right to free expression"Then you place a list of vague, foggy restrictions that could easily be logically stretched to restrict most speech if needed. The trick works on the ~30% of the population who can't easily and reliably distinguish between a semantic construction and reality

How completely stupid of you Rouge. The ECRI is NOT an EU body. This is basic stuff you've been told about before but it just never gets through that skull of your does it. LOL, no honestly, I laughed. I wish you wouldn't call me rouge, it's as if you're comming on to me, it sounds kinda gay. Trust me, Mrs R would not appreciate that. As for the rest of your gibberish, read the fekin link. Typical inane reply from you after yet again been shown to be posting malicious falsehoods about the EU

Which should tell you something, led by outside forces in both governments perhaps, although the EU isn't a government oh but wait!

Without the market muscle of a block like the EU legislation like this just goes nowhere. Facebook etc would just say to an individual nation 'OK then we're leaving, look how that helps you next election' The UK's online harm legislation only stands a chance because the EU has its DSA

The timing of this move is suspicious just as the AFD becomes the second largest party in Germany this act comes in, do the logic.

The timing of this move is suspicious just as the AFD becomes the second largest party in Germany this act comes in, do the logic. It isnt logic. It is a conspiracy theory which does not hold up in reality. To pass such legislation needs a majority of 27 countries. Not one. Now if you want the AdF to be able to spin its deceit all over the EU, you wont like this legislation. Funny coincidence.
