Well that's a really well thought out argument. Are all nurses using food banks ? If not , what are the circumstances behind it? Of course not but you know that and are using it as an excuse for supporting some nurses having to use foodbanks. |

Some time ago I read that in 1984 a senior Russian communist, realising that communism was failing in Russia, set about organising an international communist movement that would "take over" once Russia was no longer communist.

I was listening to some history of Jamaica mid 1800s time. They had some system of government which worked quite well with a load of small land owners who famed for subsistence. Then one day they had some bad harvests due to poor weather. It's like they had a bit of an emergency, although not so much life-threatening but it was a hit on living standards. So what they did was started rioting. It's just like the Brits in the middle of an economic crisis. You'd think they would work themselves out of trouble if you didn't know then any better. |

When you consider the long hours they have to work and the pressure they have to work under.
Why do you think so many nurse's are leaving the profession

Let us take for example staff who work in the NHS, who have now endured over TEN YEARS of either pay freeze's, or pay rises below the rate of inflation. What this has done has created a situation where 10% of all full time posts are now unfilled, because staff are leaving, and qualified people no longer want to work in the NHS. The government COULD ( as suggested in The Daily Mail ) impose YET ANOTHER pay cut by imposing a 2% pay rise (AGAIN) on NHS staff, but please be honest with yourself .... what would that actually do to the NHS. ? Its now not a matter of "can we aford it" - its a matter of We Have To Find The Money - Or Else Slapping NHS workers again in the teeth is not acceptable, and I reckon that if the Daily Mail is correct, then the government will face a massive public sector / union backlash, and I am 100% convinced that the public will be behind them. The Tories have now got to abandon their Tax Cut Dogma, and accept reality, give public sector workers a fair pay rise. Improve the efficiency of the operation. Did you see how many forms were needed to apply to administer the covid vaccine? If not check it out. There was news on it at the time. Check how necessary the various forms were and then ask yourself how did it happen like this and is the rest just as well thought out. |
