Road workers forced to put up 'not ULEZ' signs to stop drivers harassing them. Highway maintenance workers have resorted to making their own signs to avoid being targeted as ULEZ engineers. Passerby Chris Thorn spotted a highway maintenance truck in Biggin Hill in Bromley this morning with a ‘NOT ULEZ’ sign hastily attached to the vehicle. A second matching sign had also been cable-tied to safety barriers around repairs to a set of traffic lights. In the weeks since the ultra-low emission zone was expanded to cover the entirety of greater London, one in four of its cameras used to detect non-compliant vehicles entering the capital have been vandalised. A fleet of vans have been deployed following the camera attacks – but those vans have also been targeted with windows spray painted and tyres slashed. Chris said: ‘It was 10:10am on the main road in Biggin Hill. There were two guys plus security repairing a severed traffic light. ‘They were getting a lot of horn from passing motorists.

Motorists in London may well be hit with another cost in 2025
Drivers in London could soon face a charge of up to £4 to use the Blackwall and new Silvertown tunnel.
Provisional road signs released by Transport for London (TfL) inform drivers they will need to pay to use the tunnels from 2025.
The Blackwall tunnel is currently free to use but when the Silvertown tunnel is completed and opens in two years both will be tolled.
The tunnels have to be tolled to prevent traffic diverting from one to the other.
They will be tolled from 6am until 10pm, according to official documents released on TfL’s website.
Motorcyclists will pay up to £3, car drivers up to £4 and other vehicles up to £8.50.
Drivers will apparently be charged for each crossing, not for a return journey.
If Khan is still Mayor by then if voted in again which I doubt , he will grab as much cash as possible

Anyone seen this? I recently happened upon it and sent them a message of support, good luck to them...

It would appear the Tories are actively endorsing law breaking here.
"When is a vandal not a vandal? When they’re attacking Ulez cameras, say desperate Tory MPs".
Shameful.

I was not alive at the time of the Tolpuddle martyrs nor was I alive at the time of the suffragettes, and I assume you were not as well. I do support the ideas of fighting against 'laws' that impinge human dignity and oppress people. The ULEZ cameras are local laws not intended in any way to emulated those of a past era when discrimination against the poorest and weakest in our society were carried out by those with wealth and power. How you can equate the three is nothing more than stupid.

Fair's fair.

Ah - so you are in favour of breaking Laws that you disagree with but anyone else breaking Laws they disagree with but you support is shamefull.. The hypocrisy is breathtaking.

My point was not about 'breaking laws' nor whether I agreed with them or not but you knew that and attempted to twist my statement for your fun, poor form. When you have a government openly endorsing criminal acts, in this case vandalism, how can they be trusted to make laws? Please stop with the stupidity, it's beginning to suit you.

Fair's fair. Who said 'shoving' a statue in a harbour was not a crime? Not me.

Have you been triggered, Wonky?
It was a jury that decided it wasn't a crime.
The same as they will if the "Blade runners" end up in court.

Now it's come to light that the error rate for these cameras is 3% and thousands of fines are being issued in error - is 3% an acceptable failure rate?
