Oh ffs Einy, it's a figure of speech, a metaphor. Grow up there's a good boy, no apologies if I disrespected your chosen pronoun btw. Maybe a case will set a new precedence. We live in hope, sheepy.

Maybe a case will set a new precedence. We live in hope, sheepy. In hope of what? In hope that the courts will decide that employers don't have the right to tell their employees how to carry out their duties? Good luck with that.

Who knows? Maybe we'll end up with anti-woke journalists being prosecuted and newspapers being closed down for their woke opposition? How do you think the GB News management would react if one of their employees refused to follow their instructions? Do they think they'd simply overlook it? I'm quite confident they'd do exactly what the OU did. There's nothing new about an employer's right to dismiss for an employee's refusal to implement policy or follow instruction. The right didn't suddenly appear with the emergence of 'woke' culture. If you actually watched GB News rather than just talk about it, as lefties tend to, you wouldn't have posted that^.

I've watched it occasionally. It doesn't qualify as news. It's mostly idiots telling other idiots what they should think.

You're 'hoping' that the courts will turn around and say that employees are entitled to refuse to do what they're being paid to do in the manner they're being paid to do it. As I said, good luck with that.

You think there might be a term in the contract that allows Dr. Gadow to obey her employers' instructions at her own discretion. It's very unlikely. But, as Red says, you can always 'hope'.

I didn't say that, but thinking about it Dr Gadow is a lecturer in law, so I would guess she checked her contract before making a stand.

You think she checked her contract and found a term conferring a right on her to disobey her superiors at her discretion? I don't know what is in it do you? I can say with a very high degree of statistical probability that Dr. Gadow's contract does not include a term which allows her to disregard her superiors' instructions at her own discretion.

I would also guess it doesn't include her superiors moving the goalposts at will.
