you are right red , but only just. I dont think the spluttering uk economy is anything to shout about do you? The government has been scratching about in the dirt looking for ths tiniest percentage point economic growth so it can say its avoided recession , but economic growth cant really get much lower while inflation has remainer stibbornly high.
I think the articles above , especially the delusional one by andrew neil is just an excercise in diversion .Laughing at other countries alleged woes while ignoring the major problems in the uk.
Germany obviously from reports has major problems .As borkie says earlier , im not sure how germanys woes help the uk in any way. One of the main problems i keep reading about is ze germuns being told off by the yanks for using russian gas , to the detrmient of their economy. That seems to be one of the bigger problems.
Economists are predicting their problems arent going to last , as energy issues moderate , and sales to china recover.
Yes I quite agree, but that's not going to stop me rubbing it in Oracles face. We're all aware the economy is, lets be generous and say fragile, and we're all aware that inflation is a problem across the G7. But if the UK had dipped into recession by even 0.1% for just one quarter, then Oracle would laughing and telling us it's all because of Brexit. And for her to say Germany is not the powerhouse of the EU is laughable. Although, considering Germany is in recession perhaps she's right, lol. Yes indeed, Germanys biggest problem is energy, or more accurately thanks to renewables, the lack of. In-fact with Merkel banning nuclear after Fukushima and going all out on unreliable renewables and Russian gas, it makes me wonder who has the most incompetent energy policy in Europe, the UK or Germany? Dont you dare speak for me or assume what i would say. I am not one of your preprogrammed reactive fairground dolls. I can think for myself in spaces you dont even know exist. Dont ever assume i am as limited as you are. Who the feck do you think you are?

Who do I think I am? Oracle dear, I am your Nemesis. Now do something useful and put the kettle on there's a good girl.

The idea that the UK is anywhere near position to become a major world economic power is another example of imaginary self deception. Is that another strawman fallacy you have invented? I haven't seen that 'idea' mooted on here or anywhere else.

Germany is at risk because for them the era of cheap energy is over and secondly China's economic concerns is expected to reduce demand for German products like cars.

And if the ICE really is banned in 2030/5 it will be disaster for the massive German car industry. BEVs can be built in a washing machine factory - all of the German advantage in this field will count for nothing. And the batteries will be built in any country with access to cheap energy - i.e. not Germany. China will win that market.

Clap clap clap. Another set of assumptions and guesses collectively called a fairytale based on nothing as long as it is aimed against any country in Europe. Germany is always a good bet. In other words the author's hope. Another nasty unfounded sidetrack to the ridiculous Brexit forecast that German car production would collapse without the UK ( all cheer together) . Germany's auto industry association VDA expects the number of electric passenger cars produced in Europe's biggest economy to jump by 50% to over a million this year, due to rising foreign demand and carmakers ramping up e-mobility production.Apr 16, 2023 www.reuters.com › europe German auto association sees 2023 electric passenger car output up ...

If you read the motoring press people are rapidly becoming disillusioned with electric cars. They will have to be forced to buy them in the future unless numerous problems are resolved.

An interesting chat in here about Germany towards the end a bit of chat about Brexit. Germany taken by surprise by China largely lost the Chinese market as they make their own cars with their own supply lines. Germans hated Trump yet now the Biden regime has destroyed their economic model, through changes in US have encouraged companies like VW to leave Germany and go to the US. What now happens to German trained mechanics? Also cannot import cheaper Russian fuel. AFD is booming, immigration firstly and now Russia and Heat Pumps. Due to PR, AFDs rise is causing an imbalance and the Left may change to become an anti-Nato party and get up to 20% of the vote. 50% of Germans want Germany out of geopolitics and free to buy Russian fuel. He worries that no-one with any answers or vision has appeared to lead them forward. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ACX9xqMsRM
